So is the VW Golf mk2 GTI 16V a classic, some say it is, one thing is for that does point to classic status are values are on the way up, time to sale my beloved L52M schwarz blau mk2, this colour was only available in the gti 16v model and only for 8 months from 1989 to 90. So limited numbers. It's a 70's VW colour which for a non metallic looks blue in sun light and black in low light or from some angles. Enjoy the video.

Really, that's cool, I know of 2 more in London, one was an ABF also but is a 1.8t and the other one is now storm grey.

Great video! Love the final build, what bbs wheels are those and where did you find them? I want to find something similar for my car and am having no luck thanks!

The wheels are BBS RM 15x6.5J they came standred on a few Golf mk2's models, but mostly they were an optional extra from the dealer when the mk2's were new.

I would like to know how long time do they need this restoring and how much money do you spend on this?? (I own my original GTi mk2 from 2000 i have made about 400000 km and i really want to do a same reconstruction....) P.S. great job you really looks like you love what you do its a peace of art!

Hi there, thank you friend, well the. first part of painting the engine bay and making theengine and gearbox and front suspension took a year do it when I had free time, but then finishing the the rest I did in 4 months working 4 or 5 days a week on this. This car was easy because it wasn't a lot missing and no rust or welding needed, as a rule it can take 1 year.

Amazing restoration, but please tell me you got rid of that hideous steering wheel and put an original back on. I had a MK2 back in the days. They were built like tanks, but so much fun to drive.

Thanks, unfortunately I left that steering wheel on and sold the car in 2022 with that same steering wheel, My latest project mk2 has a G60 leather steering wheel 😍 which yes is nicer. thanks for watching 👍🏼

In 2016 is wasn't than much and I could still get a lot of stuff new like the 90 spec body trim kit, these days I've seen 2 door 90 body trim kits go for crazy money second hand. So to answer your question, it cost me half in 2016 what it would cost today.
