Playing Italy in current version where best parts of italian focus tree are controlled by other players and your focus tree is even worse then soviet one? Ie current italian focus tree is arguably the WORST in the game and loses even to generic one. That's a way straight to depression...

Yea the reason for Yugoslavia and Germany doing that is because historically Yugoslavia joined the Tripartite Pact, and after that the axis still invaded them.

This happened in a historical game, Benito joined the Comintern and yeeted Germany really early

I actually did this idea beforehand. I defeated Germany by befriending Yugoslavia, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Greece while doing Italy first, took Austria as my own, waited for Sudentenland to happen and attack Germany. I managed to get a Democratic Czechoslovakia into the Novus Imperium Romanum in the end of defeating Germany, the Soviets, Nationalist Spain, and Japan. I practically reformed a 3rd Roman Empire in a sense. Benito in real life: *Wow!* I just had to friend everyone of my Roman comrades after all.

New to HoI4 I played my first serious game as Italy. Went for my own faction and the thing youre talking about with Yugoslavia happened to me. I turned them fascist so I could invite them to my faction. They joined Axis. I was fighting a war in the area when Yugoslavia was attacked by Germany. During the attack they asked to join my faction and I just clicked yes without thinking. I was then at war with Nazi Germany in 1938. During the war the south east part of Germany became democratic and soon I won the war. Now Im fighting Afghanistan in Northern Sweden. Such a weird game but I love it :D

Realistically, Mussolini was extremely opposed to hitlers ideology. Benito’s Fascism and hitler’s nazi-ism are two very different things. The only thing that brought them together was circumstance.
