I had 315/75/16s on my old diesel truck. They had excellent traction, were amazingly quiet. Absolutely will get another set. It's really hard to find a tough tire that is also supple and flexible. On the one hand, you have impossibly tough tires-- Toyo M55s, Toyo MTs, Wrangler MTRs, etc. But they are super heavy, don't work well aired down because they're so stiff. They also tend to kill MPG and ride poorly. Finding a soft and fragile tire is easy. They are lighter, have low weight ratings, but generally give better ride quality and and MPG from the light weight. The duratrac is something of a unicorn then, giving some of the seemingly incompatible extremes. Absolutely recommend.

The best tire purchase I ever made! I used to have the Bf Goodrich km that came oem on my Jeep jk, they didn’t last me long, around 3 years the most! So I ended up replacing them for the duratrac’s. And now it has been almost 7 years with them, and I used them a lot on the trails here in Tucson Arizona. And I gotta tell you! To me they are the best tires out there! They still have a little bit of tread left on them. So this week I went to my local dealer and purchased my second set or duratrac’s. Can’t wait to see them on my Jeep again so I can start wheeling again!

Great tire in all conditions, (snow, ice, rain, mud, highway, gravel) till they get about 50% wear. Then they are still very good except for the road humm/noise. But yeah I've gotten 7 years/70,000 miles on my first set. Went an got a second set, only regret is they eventually get quite loud.

Damper: something that provides damping-- reduction in amplitude of oscillation. Dampener: something that makes something wet. ;)

They just changed that model tire it’s stamped on side wall RT. Same tire but 3ply side wall also changed the lugs on side wall. I just ordered a set for 1 ton F350. OEM size 275/70/18. Great video thank you

I've had these, AT3W's, BFG KO2's, and Nitto Exo Grapplers, all 35x12.5 on a lifted Sequoia 5.7l V8. Live in the Pacific Northwest. I'm not going to compare all 4 tires but what I will say is my favorite is the AT3W's. Amazing wet traction, best for the type of Hwy conditions in winter where its packed down with icy spots, not quite as long lasting as Nitto's (got 80k mi with Nitto) but 2nd place, quiet, good for towing. All 4 tires sucked in deep mud but that's just how it is for an AT...the lug spacing is too tight to bite in and throw mud. Don't get me wrong, the Duratracs are great tires, but they lack in wet performance, didn't last as long, weren't as good in the type of winter conditions I described, they are better in deeper snow, and are loud as fuck once they wear some. Sticking with the AT3W's from now on. If I aired down and rock crawled more, the Duratracs would be a great choice. Thanks for the video brother!

I have a set on my 2500HD Silverado. I agree that they’re great tires but they became super loud with some miles. I was actually looking to switch to BFG KO2 because of that. I still haven’t replaced them and this video has me second guessing myself. LoL

KO2 is also pretty loud. Got them on my Tundra and it is really loud. Thinking of adding more sound insulation to the doors in the near future.

Well have run two sets of them and against my better judgement, my tire guy talked me into the Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s. I live at 9400 ft in the Cimarrons in Colorado so 6 months of hard winter conditions, in fact you have to drive to a community parking lot and then you track in snowmobile/side by side to get to your home. My first trip with the Falkens up the last 5 miles is curvy and always snowpacked. Immediately I noticed the Wildpeaks push in corners and later traction is sketchy. Even the BFG KO2’s did much better than the Wildpeaks. Bottom line you soon learn what works for your conditions and what doesn’t. Duratracs for the win!

Guess he never drove in sharp rocks like in the Moab area....the sidewalls would cut on the Duratracs.... Possibly it has been fixed with the new Duratrac RT that is supposed to have 3-ply sidewalls.

@@danieltaylor4819great tire in wet, they do not hydroplane, good in snow until wet and deep, then they would give up on me, got noisy after 45k so switched to General ATX, better ride, softer ride, slightly less wet, thin snow performance, but much better deep plow ridge type snow. Both were p-rated 245/70-17

What LR you got? My 2500 Ram PW came with LR D (more suited for 1500 trucks). They wore quickly , I didn’t get past 15-20k. I’ve had Duratracs on my Raptor after I wore out the OEM KO2’s. They lasted way longer on Raptor. I was trying to figure what the deal was and that’s when I realized I had LRD. I got LR E and lemme tell ya, nite and day difference, I could tell immediately the improvements all around. My TPMS warning limit was within 5 PSI on the LRD, on the LRE I have 25 PSI more to play with. Last longer, rode better and appropriate for the weight of the truck. Plenty of mud and snow no issues, never gotten stuck yet on the Duratacs, don’t care what the weather is, I know I can go. I went thru 2 “Snowmageddons” on these tires and no issues in unplowed deep snow.

I loved the DuraTracs I put on my old 350 Z71. I have noticed they wear out faster on my 8.1 2500HD. But they work so well it's still worth it to me.
