Thank you for this information. Like you.... I was quite pissed when I could not operate the Drone due to the compass needing to be calibrated as well as the GPS issues. Your information was very helpful! I did not enjoy the repetitive failure attempt to update but that was my wifi issue. I am back to flying and crashing ;) Thanks again!!

I have A GoPro Karma Drone for about two years and I love to see it in the air. I have never had any problems with this drone. I love my GoPro Karma Drone... "Fly like a Bird".

I just tried to do the update and the Core won't initialize or shut off. I have to remove the battery. It worked last fall when I put it away. Is there a option to reset the Core?

his made it look pretty simple. Thank you for the great video showing us everything. I know GoPro discontinued the unit but with all of it's problems I really do love this drone and am sad they had done so. I will update mine tomorrow and enjoy it for as long as I can enjoy a discontinued unit. Do you know if we can still order things like replacement propellers and such?

I completed an update today (NZ) and I am back in the air again. Only a short 5-7min flight but all seemed okay following the update from GoPro

Does your drone still work ? Mine after the update was working ok, now it's not connecting to the controller. The drone turns on, the camera does not start, and the drone cannot be turned off other than removing the battery. I suspect programmed death after last GPS problem update.

Hey, great video dude ! I want to ask you if with the new update is now possible to fly over restricted areas or no fly zones, I think that is a big issue about karma drone against dji

My screen didn't have those icons at the right top. I had to connect to wifi and then got an update notice. After that update I got the screen you show and was able to update everything. Now to go see if it will fly... And it worked!

Can you change GPS provider on the go pro? Hack it so you can fly this drone anywhere or is it possible to have the drone stop using GPS? I do like GPS but my city is mostly all blocked. Anyway I can do this?

I did the upgrade last night because was not calibrating and is fixed now.

So it's almost May and I've updated every piece of equipment in order to fly and the second stage of calibration is still failing and I'm still grounded. HELP!!!!????

Successful update and flight today, 23 Jan 2020, in Central Texas.

It is telling me all my attachments are up to date but the GPS will still not get a signal.

I can't find GPS location... My karma controller starts getting GPS location but it's fail. I'm using my wifi to helps my drone but I keep without any signal. And it's very ironic because I can see where is my karma on the map... Hi guys, just letting You know that I crashed my Karma today, partly on purpose. I had updated my Karma two days ago, four boxes checked and did few flights after that, awerything OK? Not so, today I lifted my Karma maybe 15 metres up, howered and starting to do 360 turn, when after 45 degrees turn, GPS connection broke and Karma took of, backing away full speed, I lost Karma from my sights, and was forced to ditch the thing on trees, reaction time was few seconds, battery was full and I had almost no control of it. Now it is busted, and I am gutted, Karma was two years old with Hero5 black on it. This happened in Finland, middle of flat wooded area, no obstacles anywhere. Lets be careful out there with Karmas

I think all you had to do is touch the power button on the camera while it was installed to wake it up then the update would show on your remote. I am going to update mine soon it has been sitting for years after malfunctioning. GoPro was horrible with support. I gave them flight logs and everything they asked for yet they would not take responsibility. It took off once crash landing over aike away I was lucky enough to recover it and repair it . Then I waited a year for an update and gave it a shot again when it was non responsive to the controller taking off into my neighbors garage . I had to repair their siding . Luckily it did not hurt anyone. This done I bought for around 1600 dollars new when dji and GoPro were just coming out with similar products offering 4k video . I clearly should have bought dji . I think GoPro should have refunded all customers if they were going to pull the GPS software grounding the very expensive drones their loyal customers were now stuck with . Shame on you Go Pro !

its a fake update.i updated the drone he fly for one minute and than lost gps conection and crashed.its fake,go to fix the issue not to lie to people who trust the gopro.
