That flying wyvern is called Espinas, one of the flagship monsters of Monster Hunter Frontier. The funny quirk about this guy is you actually start to fight him when he sleeping. When he wakes up and starts to legitimately orientate, himself he can still damage you. And when he finally wakes up,........ Well,..... Get ready for an ass-kicking.

Espinas is the biggest and most important reveal . Not only is he THE flagship of the entire Frontier series like Rathalos is to the series as a whole, but he's the first Frontier monster since Hypnocatrice and Lavasioth to be brought into the main games. This throws out all the rules about those monsters not being brought back.

Espinas is a HUGE deal and so is the term Special Species because that a Monster Hunter Explore term so we could be getting Lighting Mitzu in that fall update.

Possibly, but remember what they called Apex Monsters in Rise were different than 4U's Apexes. It might happen again with Special Species.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the Special Species thing in the trailer is a mistranslation. Explore Special Species is 特殊種 The JP version of the trailer uses 特殊個体 which is the Japanese term for variants. 特殊個体 directly translates to Special Individual, which is likely where the error came from.

Espinas was originally gonna be in Monster Hunter Freedom Unite but was cut from the game due to the Frontier community disliking having there monsters go to Western games Almost 10 years later he is finally getting the chance to go Mainline

@@thethunderousstar-knight8010 Once you get past that and start bodying monsters when you go back to rise it’ll feel insanely easy since wirebugs just give you so much freedom of movement compared to old gen, also 4ultimate is probably the best traditional package since you’re focusing on movement purely instead of the special moves you get in GU and the progression is far better than GU (you’re not gonna belive it but 4u also has some semblance of a good story too)

Remind me of some kind of species of Moth that has velvety wing, and of course when threatened, it could spread a microscopic 'dust' to protect them self , and making its predator suffer from it. Nice detail from Capcom 🔥🔥🔥

The inclusion of more Frontier elements also could hint to the inclusion of the game specific weapons from that game. the way they have the website set up, there is space for two more weapons so it possible.

It's not possible. If we were to get something as big as two new weapons, we'd have known about it by now. The game release is just two weeks away. Also, there would have to be two new movesets, along with six Silkbinds for both weapons. There's already 14 weapons in the game, and the mobile website has all 14 accounted for. I know this was copium.

@@TornaitSuperBird if they didn’t intend to add more then the formatting of the weapons would center justify the last row. But they didn’t do that. Also it was also “impossible” for frontier monsters to come the main line and it keeps happening. Nothing is off the table.

@@shindoushuichi0287 nothing is off the table, but some things are certainly unlikely. Capcom already gets so much salt from players as they try to balance the 14 weapons we already have, I really don't see them adding two more just like that. Certainly not for an expansion? 🤔

Gore Magala was what got me the most hyped, I've been wanting his return ever since World. I've loved his design ever since he was first introduced and I can't wait to see the armor and weapons in each rank and hope they used the EX versions for G-rank.

Espinas happens to be the most important part of this, because even tho we had hypnocatrice and lavasioth, espinas is what i clasify as the first true frontier monster with actual craziness. Now because of this abunch of ideas an be explored, even more frontier mosnters and special monsters are gonna be coming into main series if you didnt know abt those (I originally thought they were just like fatalis and amatsu and all). So Sunbreak has the potential to be the best mh game of all time.

Hey Uno, the hype is beyond real… so excited for Gore and never fought Espinas so that’ll be nice to fight something new since I’ve never played frontier…. Can’t wait to see what else is going to be in the game. I will say ppl been saying they want monster that can keep up or outpace hunters and it seems like Capcom is delivering this for Sunbreak.

Frontier is an mmo that was shut down. It can still be played via private hosting. I recommend it, but I should warn you that power creep is MASSIVE in that game.

I hate to tell you this, but Monster Hunter Frontier shut down back in like 2019. Unlike regular monster hunter games where you can still play offline, Frontier was an MMO that required a paid subscription and to connect to the internet to even play the game.

@@ziggy8761 they shut it down because it became too big for them to reasonably add anything more and following the great success of MHW in the west they didnt feel like they were forced to keep milking it to keep the series alive. Its a bonus that shutting it down means they have no reason to keep frontier exclusives from joining the mainline.

@@remllames5727 yeah Espinas was the only Frontier exclusive monster, players got upset that they would have to pay a subscription to play Frontier and fight Espinas meanwhile Freedom Unite players would just buy their game once and always be able to fight Espinas. That made MH Team realize that not releasing Espinas in MHFU would give more an incentive to play Frontier.

Unlike Espinas, those 2 were co-developed with the main series developers, which technically makes them main series Monsters as well as Frontier ones; they just premiered in Frontier first. However, Espinas was one of the first Frontier-exclusive Monsters developed exclusively by their dev team.

5:31 Hardest is a big understatement. Released during 2nd gen era so clunky hitboxes and "questionable" moves like the instant charges It was designed more as a MMO specially towards the endgame were the smallest mistake will end in a cart or with 99% of your health away.

Espinas is a big deal cause he is from mh frontier and that game is a spinoff exclusive to japan its shutdown 2 or 3 years a ago but it had a good 10 years run and espinas is the first monster from a spinoff series to make it into mainline also in the dlc they said that winter we are getting special species which are also from a spinoff series called mh explore.Also capcom shut down all spinoff mh game so i think they are moving the monster there into the mainline

They have already said they’re going to keep releasing content all the way up to 2023 That’s more content than world got could be wrong doubt it only time Will tell that World players want cross play next GEN update that’s not asking for a lot Not asking for new content just to play with the entirety of World community I’m guessing that’s asking too much for the best selling monster hunter game.
