Service based on performance, pride, and self-image can be manipulative and harmful, but service based on who we are in Christ allows us to rejoice in what God does in our lives and in the lives of others. There are three things Jesus tells us he gives every single one of his disciples: 1) A mission, 2) A message, and 3) A motivation.
This sermon was preached by Rev. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on February 16, 2003.

Gewörfenheit. (Throwness) Maybe opposite of gesündheit! (The height of your health). Ausgeworfen. To be thrown out. Oisgevarft. (Phonetically). A version of the Yiddish. What happened to the bad fruit? "Oisgevarft!" Gotta love the lessons stuck in there. I'm glad to hear I wasn't thrown in to the world.

And, the rejoice means I am chosen then I am sent out to do something (mission) and tell something (message) to the world. Thanks God and Tim for making me learn this and think this.

Tim's lead to the gospel is a very profound personal depth of thoughts, so his sermon is compelling to start a action for reaching others immedoiately. Halelujah, amen!

15 years after hearing Tim Keller for the first time I’m a youth pastor and we have been very successful yet this sermon still challenges me and equips and motivates me to do more and to do it better and just for Jesus!

Where do you get your information? What's your source for Augustus sending out a message that opens with “In the beginning of the reign of. . .” That sounds like an urban myth.
