I've had the 5-11 now for the past couple of weeks and am very happy with it. It has split everything I've fed it. I have no regrets buying it , expensive for the average home owner yes but in my books worth every penny I paid for it.

I love cutting wood, splitting, then sawing the wood into stove length......many fond memories of working with my family on the wood detail. For many years, wood was our only source of heat. We now have heat pumps throughout the house and solar panels. But I am glad I had the experience of cutting wood, etc. Great video and nice wood splitter. Southern Maine has finally received some much needed rain. Now looking forward to lots of snow this winter.

Nice splitter! It looks like it would handle everything most guys would throw at it easily. The cycle time isn't as fast as it's big brother but it's not like a guy by himself is waiting on it either. It looks like a perfect fit for personal and/or light commercial use. Thanks for showing it to us.

I like the way those folks at Eastmade make equipment. Build it like a tank and it will never break. you know, it's much less "industrial" than the other, but still a monster of a wood splitter. I guess with the other unit gone, there goes my hopes of seeing GP's firewood at a retailer near me!

I think that’s probably the right size for me I’m only gonna be cutting wood for myself 10 or 11 pick up loads a year All I have is a box store splitter now with no log lift. Plus they could probably put electric start on it

Yes, I agree that that model is generally the one for my use too. It will 'handle' all the rounds ( or 'junks' , as we call them here ) that you and I will want/need to split. Thanks to Andrew Easton and of course you too Gord ( mostly ) for this demonstration.

That's a nice splitter . Just the right size for me . Not too big yet not too small . I like the catch tables on it . No need to be bending down and grabbing the splits . Just toss them in the trailer . The only problem is that Eastonmade make such a great product and that they are so busy that you have to wait until next spring to get one . LOL . I'm surprised that you still have your boat in the water . I guess you'll get to it when your ready . Great camera angles Gord . Take care .

That Andrew is a great guy. The 5-11 is a great splitter and more than enough for even the busiest property owner and his neighbours. I'll bet you miss the auto cycle feature of the 22-28 and the 24' conveyor too.

I have the 12-22, the 5-11 with the 4 way is ideal for you and Guy. Great choice GP!

GP, liking the new product, looks good + practical for a 'one man' operation with the log lift and all. At my point in life's time line now splittin wood, I feel that the 'Log Ox' would better suit my needs. (and wallet !! LOL) I would like both! You do great demonstrations and tutorials on your channel ! Stay healthy. Good stuff !!!

Finding the right size implement without breaking the bank can be a challenge at times.

Eastonmade makes some impressive products, I would say this is still serious overkill for anything below commercial production. If you have a chance to test out their Ultra unit, please do. I also like a company called Wolf Ridge, made in Wisconsin, very similar design and build. I checked out some Timberwolf products, but they seem to have fallen behind the other two companies mentioned above for this sized product. The other consideration is once you reach a certain capacity you need to add the conveyor to keep up with the efficiency of the splitter. The conveyor costs as much as the splitter. As always, your experience and analysis are priceless.

How's she goin'? That looks like a better sized splitter for residential needs even though it's listed as commercial!! It sure is beefy. The log cradle looks to be 1/2 steel!!! Hard to damage that eh!!! LOL The stabilizers are nice too, as they will hold everything nice and level. Pretty nice unit and will split any kind of wood I would throw on it!!! Hi G.P. this splitter is a bit more realistic for the average home owner. Good looking machine but I do miss the automatic loading ( my laziness is showing ) haha . Great video thanks for sharing have a wonderful weekend

Hey GP...that's another great working splitter...but have you seen the Eastonmade Axis splitter with the 8'conveyor? It's a vertical splitter and is quick. Easy to move around the wood lot.....Keep the vids coming!!

Hey Gord; I have had a deluge of leaves blowing in here from the north. I ordered up a stout wind out of the south yesterday hoping to blow them back north, but not a lot of success. Next time you fire up the leaf blower aim it north!!! HeHe. That looks like a very functional splitter, but as others said, the price will buy several years worth of heat for your home and shop. By the way, when are you going to build that shop/man cave for yourself and your buddies??------------Loren

Yes that's definitely the size wood splitter y'all need my only additional suggestion would be to use your pallet Forks for the rounds to sit on to lift into place. Save your BACK !!! Remember your mother never sent you with replacement parts

Looks like another great splitter, but far out of my (and probably most of your subscribers) price range. $7,000 - $9,800 listed on the website is a heck of a dent in the wallet! When I tried to add one to the cart to see what was included in the base model it would only start at $9,000. (Not sure what happened to the $7,000 version...) After tax (and probably shipping) it's well over $10,000. Maybe an "investment' for a group, like you've got, but I think most of us will have to settle for our sub $1,000 27 ton gas splitters we get on sale! There's a lot of stuff I can get for that $9,000... That difference is slightly more than I paid for my 66" HLA grapple, 84" BE box blade, BE 4800lbs. pallet forks, BE rear auger (with 6" and 12" bits) and Woods 84" rear snow-blower combined! However, it's slightly less than I paid for my Ferris mower this year! I guess it's all relative. If you spend 10+ hours a week splitting wood (like you guys), or 10+ hours a week cutting grass (like I used to), you starting making deals with the accountant and start calling these depreciating assets "investments". : ) Always fun to see how the other half lives, though! (like with that Ferris blower!) Glad you get a shot a playing with all this fun stuff! Keep up the great work, Gord!

Who has north of 5 grand to heat their home? ... only those who expose our weaknesses as consumers. Gord you do a great job at disguising the truth however it is what it is and we can only afford what we can afford.

Far too expensive though. I've been seeing this splitter all over youtube. Yes, it is a beautiful piece of gear but.. way out of most folks' price range.

This how you can spend a lot of money for useless pensioner`s toys...Just buy some fiskars axe instead of these bullshit equipment!
