Eastonmade Wood Splitters

Eastonmade Wood Splitters

3 жыл бұрын

Here's something we don't do often. Run a 5-11. If you're looking for a heavy commercial splitter built to last a life time, but don't need huge production than this is the machine for you. It has the same frame and components as our 9-16 and 12-22, but its just a little slower.
Thanks for all the feedback and support guys. Means the world to us. It's really fantastic to watch a great community evolve around our product.
Give us a call for more information!!!

I want one. I need one....weeks ago. I can't afford one :-( I have been studying current wood splitters, looking for as good or better, than our "family" splitter. This 5-11 is what I would imagine as a dream machine upgrade. Needs the automatic return, to save some time. Probably safer though when you have to hold the handle, when pushing forward.

One of those 3rd on the tractor forks was a yellow birch based on the bark. I'm thinking the nasty one was elm. I see Jerry 'with a G' and Cousin Mike were nowhere to be found to help you out with those monster sized firewood rounds. The 5-11 handles those like a champ. I would think that adding the auto cycle valve option for the 5-11 and you'd have a great splitter for the average homeowner that splits 5 to 10 cords a year.

Hey Andrew, geat to see a 5-11 in action. I have thoroughly enjoyed mine and how efficiently it handles my wood pile every year even if it is one of your earlier models without quite as many of the bells and whistles of these newer ones. It always impresses myself, friends and family to see it work. Was disappointed that saw tech didn't happen this year for our yearly meet but maybe things will settle and it will happen next summer.

I agree 1000% Speed sells, but how long can the average man keep up with a 12-22 before the machine is spending an unnecessary amount of run time waiting for the Human to feed it? I don't want to buy capacity that I can't use, if you know what I mean. Decisions Decisions... LOL!
@timberhitchllc
@timberhitchllc 3 жыл бұрын
@24:40 You can see a nice progression of a "built-in feature" of these splitters. With the machine not connected to anything, it is stout enough to scoot without hurting anything as the woodpile builds up at the discharge. If you have enough room and lay it out right, you can stack the rank of blocks along your route to keep everything close at hand and flowing nicely.

Howdy Andrew. Simply put, I’m impressed. After using and servicing the Ultra you sent Joe’s Premium Firewood, I know who I’ll be contacting if I ever need to buy another splitter... You! Joe gets his share of hecklers about the Ultra, but I think I understand your engineering logic. As you stated “It’s not a machine for everyone”. But for the person who’s breaking down sub 12” rounds and doesn’t want to waste a ton of time waiting for the cylinder to cycle, it’s an awesome little machine👍🏻 Bless’ns to ya! Tedd

Looks like yellow birch (Betula alleghaniensis). This kind of wood is common here in south Quebec. Note that yellow birch is rated at 26.6 millions BTU per dry cord while the white birch (Betula papyrifera) is rated at 23.8 millions BTU per dry cord.

2 insane examples from the UK for you, years ago we learned that some Scottish cod gets sent to China, filleted and packaged, then sent back to Scotland for sale. To lower labour cost. Another was the export of general waste made into bales and sent to another developed country by ship to be incinerated in a power station. Cheaper than tax on landfill waste plus pollution legislation.

Hey Andrew, I was noticing the differences between on the 4-way wedges on your splitters. I was wondering what are the degrees upwards on the Ultra and the 5-11? I would believe that degree angle is 0. And the Ultra is more like 15 or 25 degrees. Am I right or wrong just saying? lol

Yes that is right...the wood has room to fall out on the larger machines.

Nice machine Andrew, I don't run into any yellow Birch here but I do split some Elm once in awhile and that can be nasty. Take care.

I wasn't impressed with the Ultra, or the way it was run, that first exposed me to Eastonmade. I have to say, my opinion has changed 180°. Solid, durable, rugged seem to be understatements. Nice line of splitters.

I purchased an Ultra two years ago. I'm a home owner and burn about three to four cord a year. I owned a 30 ton "big box store" splitter for eight years before that. I love my splitter...it splits better then my old one...way faster and more power. It does not have the lift but I have a tractor with a front loader. I fill the bucket with rounds, bring it over to the splitter and go to town. I just wish the Ultra would stack it for me.

Or Sycamore. I've never came across a piece of elm yet that I couldn't split with my Brave 22 ton. But, I've come across 2 pieces of Sycamore now that stopped it in its tracks.
