The Bulls seem like the ONLY TEAM IN THE WHOLE LEAGUE that feel like they have no clear direction, and as a Bulls fan, I'm sick tbh; we're just a worst version of the Raptors of the early 2010's not a second round out in the playoffs....but a constant first round out AT BEST currently struggling in a play-in position. And yea, I'm going back to following the Heat if the Bulls front office runs this team back again next season

@@tyreerhodes2316lol that’d be interesting. Have “NBA Cup” aka in season tourney be the last of the first part. Early October to the beginning of January, have the NBA Cup after the national championship in NCAA which was Jan 8th this year. The NBA Cup can be the end of that week in to the weekend, at least the Vegas single elimination part of it or whatever. So let’s say Oct 3rd through Jan 14th or so. That’s 100 something days, I think there’s 175 days in the season or somewhere around there, 177 whatever. Then they’re off from 1/15 until mid February after the Super Bowl. So that’s a month off p much exactly. This season started Oct 24th, 3 weeks later than I’m proposing, so by starting earlier it p much makes up for the break. Hopefully you can get the In Season Tourney big enough to where it is a real thing, they get a bigger TV deal bc of it, and by having it be the last days of the season before a month break it’ll be a real event. Then they resume Feb 13 or 15th or whatever. That’s basically when All-Star break is…and with this new break, you don’t need an actual BREAK. Maybe you restart the season 2/13 or w/e, play for a few weeks, have the trade deadline be like March 4th or 5th or so. Then continue to play games until like March 13th or 14th, (Wednesday can be the last day) have the All-Star activities from that Friday to that Sunday. So 3/15-3/17. Then games start back up like 3/20. So just enough time for guys to comfortably go to All-Star and get back. You already had your vacation during the month break. 3/20 until the end of April to finish the regular season, Play-In tourney May 1st or so, and the Finals ideally end by early July. Right now finals G1 is June 6th, G4 is June 14th, G5 the 17th, G6 and 7 20th/23rd. So it prolly ends the 17th or 20th. If it went 6-7g with the break, it’d prolly be more like July 14th or something. So you’re starting the season a couple weeks earlier, ending it a couple weeks later…but there’s a break. Everyone can heal up a bit, you go all out in the NBA Cup (assuming that becomes a thing that ppl care about) and you don’t have to play again in 2 days. You get a break, so it encourages ppl to take it seriously and go hard even more. Then during the break is the Super Bowl and some playoffs and stuff, so you avoid all that. I seriously think this would be a legit good thing. The ASB feels long and annoying especially bc there’s no football on anymore. During the break you’ll have the playoffs and SB, then NBA cranks up not too long after that. Players will be healthier and less fatigued for the last like 30-35g of the season or whatever it is. They’ll be ready for the playoffs and not just completely worn out by the time they get there. It’d give more shine to the NBA Cup. And honestly it stretches the season out so there’s less of a down period for sports. For ppl who don’t watch baseball, once NBA/NFL are both off it’s pretty lame. This would take the draft in to late July, Summer League in to like mid August. I wasn’t gonna sit here and research the exact dates and games and stuff lol. But it prolly wouldn’t be AS late as I said, you can trim ASB by a few days, start maybe 10-14 days earlier, and end like 10 days later than usual. That way the players aren’t sacrificing their offseason a bunch. Maybe it only ends up being like 10-12 days shorter for them, ASB is 4D shorter, and you can give them a solid 3 week break at least mid season. I think they’d happily start and end 10d earlier/later or so if they got like 24 days off after 48 games or something in that ballpark. I guarantee you’d see less injuries in the playoffs, just bc so many players are gonna be able to get back to 100% or close during that time. If you’re banged up, and you’re not in the final 8 or whatever of the NBA Cup, you can end up getting a full month off or even a little more if you maybe take a game or two off before and start your break early. Now all those 6-8 week injuries suffered before, they’re only gonna miss a couple weeks. Also pretty much every player is banged up by that point, so just getting that rest is so massive. I think players would play more games too. I’ve legit never thought of this before your comment but I really like it lol.

I was really thinking about Nuggets formula to win and I can unsee how Luka is basically Jokic, Kyrie is Jamal and rest of the guys can fill the roles that MPJ, Gordon and KCP do, cuz Lively, PJ and Derick Jones might be close + you have Hardaway, Gafford, Green bench

Buddy Hield was a good call even while Embiid is out because what the Sixers need is to stay at .500 ish and not go on losing streaks until Embiid's back to stay in the top 6 and 3-point shooting variance is a great way to do that. It's not as consistent of a way to generate offense (which is why the Celtics could stand to shoot less 3s) but just spamming 3s on high volume means you'll have enough nights where the shots go in to stay afloat. And when Embiid's back, Buddy's the exact archetype of player that looks amazing next to Embiid on offense getting to spam open 3s while having his deficiencies covered on defense Maxey is one of the best shooters in the league but Buddy is in an elite tier as just spamming 3s on high volume go. Maxey, Seth Curry, Redick, even Harden all shot around 7 threes per 36, Buddy shoots around 10. With how Klay is playing, this might also be the best volume 3pt shooting backcourt in basketball right now. As a backcourt, Maxey-Harden shot around 14 threes, Maxey-Melton shot around 12, and Maxey-Buddy this season would be shooting around 18. Even as starters, the 5 Celtics starters shoot 31 threes per game, now the 5 Sixers starters shoot around 30 per game and make around 11. Sixers have the 2 worst 3pt shooters of the combined starters but also the 2 best shooters Celtics starters shoot around 31 and make 12. Celtics as a team overall shoot 43 per game and Sixers as a team shot only 31 before, but now they're adding about about 4 more 3pa to their starters and another 6 more 3pa to their bench with Lowry and Cam Payne replacing Pat Bev and Springer. Plus the worst part about the Sixers offense is Tobias ball-stopping and the more possessions that end with a Buddy 3pa instead of Tobias giving up an open 3 to pump-fake and drive into the midrange to shoot a fadeaway against help defenders, the better I also think people are severely underrating how good even washed Lowry is especially as a replacement for Springer who would have gotten no playoff minutes, he's still a stout defender and fantastic playmaker with 5 3pa on almost 40% and very high BBIQ even in his limited minutes and one of his career strengths has been elevating bench unit offenses. He's still a great post entry passer which everyone on the Sixers team except Nic Batum is bad at, which gives Embiid much easier offense. From the discourse you'd think Miami waived Lowry people saying they "got rid of him", as opposed to Miami as a team desperately needing scoring and youth trading him for a scoring upgrade and then a tanking team buying him out to let him go to a contender. Sixers have the best scorer in basketball and the highest net rating starting 5 in the league. What they needed on their bench is a guy who creates easier offense for Embiid including getting him the ball when he gets deep post positioning so he can score off the catch instead of having to beat a double/triple team every time, feed their backup bigs, elevate bench units to stay afloat, and good game management (Sixers are atrocious at game management, like knowing when to slow down vs when to speed up, how to respond when things aren't going their way, when to stop runs by grinding things down, when to take advantage and step on an opponent's neck, etc.. and Lowry is the best game-management PG this side of Chris Paul), and a vocal locker room presence that brings positivity and leadership

Micic looks like the perfect backup to LaMelo, Curry is a great homecoming story, Bertans can still shoot the lights out, Grant Williams is already a better defender and shooter for us than PJ Washington (PJ just lost interest in being here), and Tre Mann showed great playmaking and shot creating ability for us. Basically there was no trade the Warriors could make that could do better in their current lineup. Kuminga and the trio are non starters. No one wants a recently injured and aging CP3. The only serious trade consideration was Wiggins, who’s been playing a lot better now that Draymond is back. And there was no one you could trade Wiggins for that’s better than an improving Wiggins. I think the theory is just to ride the season out and see if the hot streak is enough to get into the playoffs. Then any serious restructuring can take place in the off season instead.

I would like to point out that washington is getting OKC’s 2024 frp in the gafford trade so very late 20’s and dallas is sending a 2028 pick swap to okc so OKC i feel deserves the A and the wizards deserve a B+

25:19 no body likes the Jazz and I don't necessarily blame you all but we have exciting pieces like Lauri Markkanen and Keyonte George, and we have a front office thats so far been making smart decisions to build a team for the future without providing an unwatchable product in the meantime.

If Mavs would’ve got Dinwiddie it would’ve been looked at like a fantastic move even though they suck at defense and the 2 best players are gaurds But Lakers add depth to their weakest position group and it’s looked at as a terrible move 💀
@Other_Robots
@Other_Robots 5 ай бұрын
Nobody would have praised the mavs for getting dinwiddie because they don’t need a 30 year old guard when they got hardaway jr, jaden hardy, and exum coming back at some point. Lakers fans always gotta be defensive when their team isn’t getting praised 😂

@@Other_Robots I'm neither Lakers or Mavs fan, but who ever got Spencer did good. He was at times second best player on Mavs on their run to conference finals. If I was Lakers I would start him over DLo.

@@burdjija maybe, but him and DLo feel kinda redundant and are averaging similar stats. Sure it creates depth but i don’t think lakers are gonna pull off another post-deadline surge with him like some are hoping

"Your job as a GM is to improve the team." Is it though? Couldn't it just as easily be to keep the team profitable? Sure, fans want the team to win, but is that required to make money? I don't think so.
@Other_Robots

Nah only team that doesn’t need to be good to make money is the Knicks (i think up until very recently the knicks were worth the most of any nba franchise despite being garbage for 2-3 decades) because of how big the sports market is. Like I’m sure the bucks know if they lose Giannis they’re selling much less merch and tickets and just focus on the packers

Nobody wants to admit it but the REAL winners of the trade deadline was 2000% the Charlotte Hornets... They FORSURE fleeced the OKC with a IR All Star named Gordon for A EuroLeauge MVP, a SHOOTER in DB and OMG levels of untapped potential in Tre Manns AND TWO 2nd round picks.. Mavs (And I know Mavs players will STGGG PJs better than Grant) also REALLY got fleeced.. Badly.. Grant is a vocal person who was shooting 50% from 3 and averaging around 19 a game until something happened and it seemed like he Dallas didnt want him to be him and it effected him.. PJ will be PJ 14 & 5 all the way.. But FOR THE HORNETS Grants a ALL AROUND upgrade.. But THEN they also gave them Seth Curry AND a 1st for PJ.. Im sorry but the Hornets are the ONLY team that made TRUE "deadline steals" and they WILL lead to Charlotte being able to hit a good playoff run next year..

Join us Rusty! It's not too late, once we get rid of Doc and get a defense first coach, we'll be back on top in no time. (Or at least more hopeful; even now we're far closer to contention than we are to rock bottom or endless mediocrity. Since we won in 21, I'm willing to be forgiving for at least a few more years..)
