Gran Turismo Sport gameplay of a Nations Cup race around Interlagos in the Gr.3 Porsche 911 RSR. This is one of the most brutal and unforgiving races I think I may have taken part in on GT Sport!

This new penalty system once again doesn’t work. Some ridiculous penalties for the littlest of things, sometimes nonexistent ones.

I got 3 penalties there, all for tapping someone lightly coming out of a corner. They were't affect, in fact probably helped!

This is a driving simulator so in real life you won't nudge someone else car to give it a boost or help him/her so it is kind of a lame excuse. So it is a fair penality even tough it may help the oponent. This game is trying to mimic the real world scenarios.

I BLEW A 7 SECOND LEAD BY TRYING TO WORK OFF PENALTIES, SLOWING DOWN OUT OF THE RACING GROOVE MULTIPLE TIMES IT WAS A 3.26 PENALTY. I STOPPED BEFORE THE FINISH LINE AND SOMEONE CAME BY BY .003 SECONDS. SOMETIMES THE PENALTY WINDS DOWN, SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. ANYONE HAVE A REFERENCE?

I agree 100% about the Brazilians. It's like they 95% if them decided that they want to take the mantle of dirty driving. I just can't explain why they do that. Seems like the Spaniards are right up there too. Just unbelievable!!!

Its really hard to make a good penalty system in racing games. There are nearly infinite number of possible accidents and contacts between cars, and its nearly impossible for a computer to decide who's fault was that. And you cant have someone always watching every race and stewarding. But this system is still better than forza's nothing.

They should build into the algorithm the consequence of the contact. If the car hit is barely nudged, and does not lose line or time, then no penalty. If the car is gets shunted off its line, then penalize according to the distance shunted. Can also calculate for corners based on that car's average time through said corner/straight, as well as average for all cars. This gives a standard against which penalties can be calculated. There are many ways to do it, and with a delay in penalties awarded, there is time for the computer to run even the most complex algorithms.

@@barryschwarz as seen in other videos, if you do it based on consequences, then you have the issue that you can tap another car and then dive into the grass to give the other car a penalty. (you would think though, that maybe the system could tell the difference between steering into the grass and being pushed into the grass.)

@@Sahuagin If the algorithms were purely consequence-based that would be the major issue. I was thinking that included in the calcs would be a 'blueprint' of the tidiest circuit/s, and deviation from that factored in, deviations from optimal braking zone (prevent brake-checking) etc. Not just consequences.

shoezzz GT Sport looks amazing, I just hate the chase cam. If the chase cam was as good as the one in Forza, it would be awesome, but It’s a great game nonetheless, you should really try it.

Everybody insists on throwing dive bombs in the twisty section at interlagos. It baffles me. Unless there's a big mistake there's only 2-3 real overtaking places here if you're clean. The gr.1 race here a few weeks back dropped me from S to C SR in one race if I recall correctly. I was livid. People half a second back trying to out brake. Mental man

I am enjoying the editing of these GT sport races, having the different camera angles every so often helps give a better sense of the race that’s going on around you.

This is what almost every multiplayer race I've ever played has been like. The exception is Wreckfest, where it is possible to have a good race, especially in the latter stages if you have looked after your car, and everyone else is hanging on by a thread.

Penalty system is actually counterproductive. If the penalty is less then 5 sec you might as well carry it across the finish line there is no point in serving it as chances are that the people ahead and behind also have a similar penalty. Also think that penalties should be not so easily given and served in the pit not on track.

That Gr.3 Porsche can be quite frustrating when handling slow corners, sometimes it slips, sometimes it doesn't. It's one of my favorite machines in the game, though.

This is the first time ever watching a SuperGT video feeling TRIGGERED XD. I dont play racing games that much but I can see how bloody ridiculous the penalty system is right now. And dont even get me started on the other drivers...They did you so wrong SuperGT, but still enjoyed the video...somehow haha

the main reason I tend to drive with a front/cockpit camera is so that I can judge the distance between me and the front car better, besides clipping the apex closer

If Interlagos were in an FM7 expansion, I’d buy it no matter what the cars included were. Definitely a brutal race; I quite like the replay cam shots mixed in, looks very neat

Ohhh my god how bad were them pen's, cant even have a bit of door rubbing without getting one, thats just ridiculous, was a hars fought race, just a shame you went down to 8th :(. But it was a great race though and lots off overtakes so lots of action, if the penalties werent so harsh you could have concentrated more on the race rather than running off penalties. Great video mate cant wait for the next, hopefully some better results for you next time :)

God damn Spanish Armada. There were some overwhelmingly stubborn drivers in this race. I feel for you man. At a certain point when people drive like pricks and selfishly up your race they deserve to be wrecked. I’m all for clean Racing but some people just need to be taught a lesson. The penalty system is a hot mess in this game and I for one am just staying away until they fix it. It’s not worth the drop in dr and sr. Awesome video nonetheless. Really enjoyed seeing how close this one was.

That one where the Spaniard slammed you into the infield before the last couple of turns 15:20 looked like a lag spike hit to me. Look at the deflection, there's a short burst of speed.

I find almost every race is brutal at some point, it’s really frustrating when i try so hard not to upset anyone but still get rammed etc. But i still love GT sport.

The controller users will always run wide out of a corner, because they don't get much steering range. If they enter a corner slow, they'd get overtaken mid corner. That's why we get bumped exiting a corner. Or vice versa...

9:33 Sitting behind the car in front, rather than attempting to over take them, is a favoured tactic of mine in the longer races. It can end up opening up a nice gap with the cars behind, though you always have to be mindful of the lunges from behind. Sometimes though, I will invite those lunges, particularly if I can gerrymander the car behind into an unfavourable part of the track, which can result in time being lost on their part. Of course this requires that you are a quick study of their driving habits in the first place.

I still play Gran Turismo 5 regularly for ps3 but as u know they discontinued online services for the game but there are still alot of cars I want so I was wondering if maybe I could download the racepacks to a flash drive and install them on the ps3?? I don't have internet right now

The best for realism racing games are the ones that accrue a large amount of damage for really small amounts of contact either with walls or other cars, that's why I liked the V8 supercars series of games for racing fairness, it's quite difficult to have a fair system though some games do a better job of it than others. If you are playing in an environment where the smallest contact has a large impact on performance and handling for the rest of the race this is in my opinion a good incentive for people to actually race properly with some degree of honour, but you'll always have psychopaths that want to get even by going the wrong way and head on race leaders at 200mph. I find it is occasionally fun to be that psycho, but only very occasionally!

Did a daily race today and qualified in pole, in the first corner got rammed off the track and got a 2 sec penalty, I caught him up but could not overtake him, finished 2nd. So imagine my surprise when I noticed he had a clean race, how? He rammed me!

Apart from all the nudges and you being pushed wide, having 8 players fighting for second place in the last laps makes this an amazing race! Spanish people always drive too agressively in this game, nothing new

In a recent race I brakes late and closed up on a competitor and the guy behind brakes ridiculously late and punted me into the guy in front and i got a penalty, very frustrating. Whilst I generally think the penalty system is rather good it probably needs refining a little in an upcoming patch. I hope. Good racing though, a little unlucky at times. But that's racing I guess
