I have a reaction to grain fed beef that I don’t have with with grass fed/ finished beef. I suspect it’s the hormones and/or the grain. I believe in “you are what you eat and you are what you ate ate.” I’ll drive old cars, wear non branded clothes, not eat out frequently or spend on expensive toys or vacations to spend more on food so I can live a longer healthier life.

I don't know where your journey has taken you, and I mean zero disrespect. I truly respectfully say that I have a similar body type to yours but with less weight and love handles at 6'2/muscular build and I eat WAY too much sugar on top of eating primarily meat. Zero dairy, etc. The best I've felt was from over a month of grass fed/finished steak, beef liver, and pasture raised eggs. I had WAY too much energy, lost over 25lbs with zero working out (I'm in my mid 30's btw), and I've tried replicating this with grain fed beef and just cannot see similar results even after gaining another 30lbs. After researching and learning that the grain fed to the cattle is pumped with estrogen mimicking substances I truly believe that to be the reason. And I actually raise my own hens for eggs now and control their diet with my own organic garden and feed so I know my eggs aren't the variable.

I think as far as Grass fed beef goes I think because of a cows digestive system it’s not that big of a deal. As for chickens I think being able to eat insects and worms might benefit the quality of their meat and eggs.

Higher estrogen concerns can be mitigated by less overcooking for postmenopausal women. Grass feed over grain feed may offer greater nutrient value like more omega 3 and vitamin A and E and might not be worth the additional cost for any health benefits to most healthy individuals that don’t use a lot of vegetable oils or have high triglycerides, but there are those that may appreciate the more humane treatment that grass feed has over CAFO meat and their environmental benifits

I've tested it twice now. I have a varicose vein leg. It blows out every time I accidentally or sometimes knowingly eat some sort of carb or sugar. Lactose I have zero reaction to so dairy fat seems to be fine. With that said, I've been a carnivore for 8 months now. At 3 months in or so, I grabbed some beef from the grocery store(grain finished), and my leg blew out really badly after a few days of eating grocery store beef. Grass fed beef is more dense beef, and my leg pretty much completely heals so long as I stick to grass fed cows. The sugar in the grain finished cows definitely has an effect, at least with me. I just tried it again a week ago, and my leg blew out even worse than before and only had one meal of grain finished this time, not a few days. So, in my experience, I'd stay away from the grain finished.

Ignore grass fed vs. grain fed in regard to nutritional content, this is marketing using deception by those who are selling their product. Eat what you like the taste of. Some people like the sweet and tender steaks of grain fed, others like the gamey taste of grass fed..... If it isn't a little gamey... it ISNT grass fed(pro-tip) Personally I'll take my grain finished beef all day long, We just bought a Prime quality beef from a local "factory farmer" and my goodness, those T-Bones melt in your mouth. Primarily grain fed animals have less nutritious profile especially in regards to the fat. Grain based diets aren’t good for them either (pigs, chickens, cows etc.) It’s why grain fed has whiter fat instead of yellow. It’s lacking the omega fats. However I will say eat what you can afford. Just eat meat, that’s the first and foremost most important thing. It’s nutrition dense regardless. It’s just that non grain fed animals have a better omega and more saturated fat profile. Which we know is better for us, however I don’t think it’s that significant overall. Not to mention grass fed/non grain fed animals have more guarantee of ethnical livestock raising. However you can certainly find good living conditions of animals that are fed grain and feed. It’s just not as common place as pasture raised livestock for obvious reasons. (I.e pasture raising.)

@@Aaron-wt4fx It depends on where you live. And I am Canadian as well. Have lived from coast to coast. Prices really vary on things where you live. If you have a freezer and can buy large amounts, you will save. I get local free range pork every year. Cheaper than the store. But I know the farmer personally. Makes a difference. I am not really comfortable just driving up to a farmers home. But I have been keeping feelers out there. Maybe someday I will get an introduction. Have found free range eggs after 4 years of trying. Where I use to live in London the one butcher bought local grass fed. If you could buy bulk you saved. Also they had a half price bin in the freezer. They also had sales. I often found that farmer markets, especially upscale snoody ones, are really expensive. They pay a lot for the stalls. But the ones set up in fields or old buildings are often very reasonable.

However the issue is, were they given hormones? Is there still antibiotics in the meat? These are very serious. Did the cows roam a pasture like a happy /healthy cow getting exercise in the sun and elements? Exactly what percentage of their diet was grain? And was that grain gmo? We have more important questions to ask in the near future also-were they given multiple vaccines containing mRNA and who knows what else?

Conclusion The results of this review revealed that beef cattle fed on a grass-feeding diet contained less total fat than the beef from the cattle fed on grain-feeding. The reduction of the total fat content had notably influenced the fatty acid composition of beef for human consumption. A 100 g beef meat from grass-fed cattle contained 2,773 mg less total SFA than from the same 100 g beef meat from grain-fed beef. Grass-fed beef also showed a more favorable SFA lipid profile containing less cholesterol-raising fatty acids (C12:0 to C16:0) but also contained a lesser amount of cholesterol-lowering C18:0 fatty acid in comparison to grain-fed beef. In terms of fatty acids that are essential to human health, grass-fed beef showed higher TVA, total omega-3, and long-chain n-3 PUFA than grain-fed beef. Increased long-chain n-3 PUFA in grass-fed beef are EPA, DPA, and DHA. In Hanwoo, grain-fed showed higher EPA and DHA than grass-fed beef. The increased n-3 PUFA in grass-fed beef also reduced the n-6 to n-3 ratio as compared to grain-fed beef. The net effect of grass-feeding increased the n-3 PUFA but decreased MUFA due to the decreased total fat content. Grass-fed beef increased functional lipid components (omega-3 PUFA) while decreasing undesirable SFA in comparison to grain-fed beef, and thus could exert protective effects against several diseases ranging from cancer to CVD. Although grain-fed beef showed decreased long-chain n-3 PUFA, consumers should be aware that greater portions of grain-fed beef could also achieve a similar dietary intake of long-chain omega-3 FAs. Noteworthy, grain-fed beef contained higher total MUFA that have beneficial roles in ameliorating CVD risks than grass-fed beef.

Grass fed Hamburger is fabulous. The Grass fed steaks are not as tasty, to me as corn fed. The last 3 years I've gotten Grass fed from a Local rancher. I'm getting the corn fed next time.

The science is already out on grain vs grass, u just gotta look, i suggest looking into those who speak about it: thomas delauer, dr sten ekberk, and dr eric berg. Grass fed is just the superior option without question if your a person focused on health and longevity, but most of us will be spending on what we can afford for sure, we will all kick the bucket eventually.

They have a different flavor so I buy grass fed ground beef(about 5.99-6.50 a lb) or Wagyu ground beef (similar price). Wagyu is a lot greasier but is absolutely delicious. Grass fed is stronger flavor.

Grain fed tastes better and has more of the fat you need in your diet. Most grass fed is bull$hit, so you have to spend a LOT of time figuring out who's telling the truth, and the ranchers who produce a legit grass fed product offer a VERY expensive product.

I don't care for the taste of grass fed/finished. I purchase a side of beef at a time from our local butcher who purchases from a local rancher who grain-finishes. Our butcher said there are definitely differences in the content and quality of grain ranchers finish their cattle with, and our butcher happens to know his source uses good quality grains. He told me, "After all, I feed my family with it." Good point!

The only difference is the omega 3:6 ratios is slightly better in the grass fed. YOu can just supplement omega 3, or eat some fish anyway. Also they say "well there's pollutants in what they feed them in feedlots". That's just vegan propaganda. They are fed soybean cake and silage (left over corn and fiber). Both of those are byproducts of products for human consumption. And the way they're processed, all of the nasty glycophosphate and such get washed out into those human consumable products. So what those cattle are eating is cleaner than the soyslop they feed humans LOL.

I’d eat grass fed and PKD. I’m in Spain and grass fed doesn’t exist. We don’t use anglosaxon terminology. Meat is meat. Of course it’s grain finished it’s almost impossible 100% grass fed . My butcher knows everything about meat from generations. Meat in Spain delicious one of best in the world. The world is not USA.

How does the good doctor know that one of the best reasons to eat grass-fed is not what you get, but what you don't get. You avoid all of the pesticides that are used in the feed that is given to grain-fed cows. Disappointed in you, doctor...

I think the point is that some people don’t have access to or can afford grass fed beef, so conventional beef is still far better than eating other food.
@danielbroomhall8882

in general, grass-fed and finished is better, however, I believe the main point in the video is because not everyone has access to it (either financially or stock), so eating a grain-fed is better than eating any carbs.
