Having a little trouble with wrangling #greenstuff? Try mixing in some #milliput! This is an old trick, for good reason. It really does wonders, especially for those just getting into sculpting.

As someone who vastly prefers Milliput for how and what I sculpt, this hybrid has been a great bridge to Greenstuff and opened up opportunities I struggled to get with just Greenstuff alone. It’s ✨✨magic✨✨

Milliput and Green Stuff are both great, but to be honest I've had the best results by combining either one with Apoxie Sculpt. The mixture shapes beautifully, it's strong as a rock, and if you use Milliput instead of Green Stuff to mix with the Apoxie Sculpt you get a higher melting point. Green Stuff has a melting point of only 70 degrees Celsius. If you use milliput in the mixture, or Apoxie Sculpt by itself you can use it to strengthen or repair armatures for polymer clay sculpts. The combination pretty much triples the versatility.

😳 what!? I've only work with polymer clay, and i'm about to try this combination on a figure i'm customizing, but only because i don't want to bake a toy and cause articulations failure. So you can combine apoxy sculpt and milliput and use it in damaged polymer clay figures safe to bake?

I recently found a video , concerned repairing statues, that mixed two part yellow millput . Placed the mix inn a small lid adding a few drops of alcohol. This thins the millput as desired by using paintbrush and applied the epoxy with the brush to repair cracks and adding small detail.

Once again, awesome content. I've only discovered your channel a few weeks back but the density of information in each video is just "WOW"! I have a few questions on this particular topic though if you dont mind: 1- Do you use the "fine" or "regular" Milliput product? Does it even make a difference if it's mixed with greenstuff? 2- Do you let it cure a bit before you get to work with the greenput? I've tried this morning right after it was mixed and it felt like it was "disolving" on me... like a sandy texture would come out when i tried to blend it it. Thanks and keep the content coming! very helpful!!! :)

thanks for the great demonstrations! I was curious if you have any experience mixing aves apoxie sculpt with greenstuff instead of miliput? Curious if you have a preference between the two? I have not done a ton of sculpting with either mix but in my limited experience found in general it behaves very similarly but was easier to smooth (and had a longer period of time where you could smooth it with existing material) when mixing in apoxie sculpt over miliput. thanks again

Hey! Discovered your channel some days ago, its great! I´ve already worked a little bit with greenstuff and a little little bit with miliput, but nothing fancy so far. My project right now is building a necromantic horror blood bowl team, but since i dont like the official models i got me some age of sigmar zombies, ghuls and banshees (as wraith proxies) and 3d printed some werwolves and fleshgolems. Ordered some colour shaper because next step will be sculpting football outfits - jerseys, shorts, some kneepads, helmets and so on. Super excited about that, i am eager to learn some sculptingt! Watching some of your videos i already feel a little bit better prepaired and ready for the challenge. I think i will sign up to your patreon. Two quick questions, what about the curing time of the greenstuff/miliput hybrid, is it comparable to greenstuff and does it also have stages? And i got only miliput superfine white, the regular was sold out everywhere when i bought it. Is this a problem, or can i more ore less handle it like the standard miliput?

@diaconus1423

I have never found mixing the two together to work at all. They always end up adopting the crumbly characteristic and the decreased adhesion to the mini of the milliput. Even when I use a far greater ration of green stuff to milliput (75/25) it still turns out this way. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong but I’ve gone back to using only green stuff unless I’m trying to fill some type of internal gap that won’t be visible when the mini is finished. Also curious what type of oil you use for your tools?

Put of curiosity, how do you keep the green put fron sticking to your fingers when mixing. I had the hardest time, my first time. I got my fingers wet and then I turned into mud. I know it's something im doing wrong.
@lastlightcreative6537
@lastlightcreative6537 Жыл бұрын
Good question! I dampen a rag with water and keep it off to the side. Wipe your fingers and hands lightly before and during mixing of the epoxy to keep it from sticking to your fingers. This helps keep your hands clean, AND keeps particulates from your hands entering the epoxy
