Personally i dont think he was a bust. Injuries should be an excuse for players not to play to their full potential. Players like anthony bennet or high drafted players that were healthy are bust

@@lamarjacksonoverrated4290 Wiggins has averaged at least 17 PPG every single year in the NBA, had two 20+PPG seasons and his career average is 19 PPG. Thats not a bust. Kwame Brown is a bust, Bennett is a bust. Maybe he didn't live up quite to the expectations but he's not a bust either.

It's hard to be a sports fan in Portland and have all this hope built up and then get the number one player in the draft and then he never does anything. It's hard to not call that a bust. Maybe not him as a person but as a draft selection, that's a bust. It made everyone in the city feel bad. He had to leave because people here were pretty upset. Portland remains steeped in mediocrity because of the Greg Oden curse.
@nerve10025 жыл бұрын
MinisterC it was partly the organizations fault for his injury, he would have been a great player without the injury and if your upset at someone for getting hurt you just have a trash city 🤷🏻♂️
@Onlyrealmusic4life5 жыл бұрын
@@ministerc9513 It really depends on your definition of "bust". It seems like most people consider it when someone ends up not being as good as they are projected to be. Like Anthony Bennett, jabari Parker, Michael Kidd Gilchrist, Kwame Brown, etc. They had the chances to perform and just either shrank from the moment, or were just massively overrated at the end of the day. Then you have players with more complex issues like Jay Williams, Derrick Rose, Greg Oden, even Len Bias. Sure you can call them a bust but it wasn't because they just didn't have what it takes at the end of the day. There careers still didn't pan out how expected, but it's not because they played and just weren't as good as people expected, were uncoachable, or mentally weak.

I’m very happy for Greg. I know that had to be a huge blow to his psyche to come to grips that he was just not “that guy” anymore & that his dream was lifeless. It definitely was of no fault of his own & because of that I have never considered him to be a bust. He never really got a fair chance to show what he was capable of at the professional level. I’m glad that it seems as though he’s put that all behind him though & has found new life & passion in his current endeavors. Good luck going forward Greg.
