I wanted to tell you THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH. I’m 27 years old and I’ve been trying to make grits since forever! They always come out lumpy and hard, my mom had even given up on me 😩 but after your video I made Sunday breakfast for the entire house and EVERYONE loved it! It was sooo creamy and soft, I’ve always struggled with popping myself and I didn’t get popped not once! Thank you thank you 🙏

My granny taught me to do a 4:1 water to grit ratio and I promise they come out creamy/perfect each time. Plus I cook my grits about 15 minutes then I let them steam for about 10 minutes. Perfect grits!
@biancag8617 Жыл бұрын
Yep, I stopped the video & came to the comments as soon as I saw her ratio. That's definitely not how I've made them in 51 years of making grits. lol Your granny did it the right way. ❤ I'm not gonna bother watching the rest of the video but I don't see how they turned out good by doing a 2:1.

Nice grits and awesome dish!! I love your square plate!! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for showing me how to cook grits from scratch. I ordered grits from Sprout’s grocery store. It’s a health food store basically. I did not realize I was ordering grits from the bulk isle. I thought I ordered a box of instant grits. LOL I am a little embarrassed about this, but that’s what happened because of the COVID -19/Corona Virus, I’ve been letting shoppers who work for Sprout’s do my shopping. I have no choice, but to let them do my shopping for me because I have a very low immune system. Anyway, the incident with the grits was more than likely my fault. I could have clicked on the wrong type of grits. Sprout’s is normally a very good store to get your healthier food, cheeses, I have to get lactose free milk. Speaking of lactose free milk, I don’t know if you, or anyone you know, has a lactose intolerance as I do, but Fair life is the best lactose free milk out there, in my opinion. It amazed me big time because it is the only brand I know that literally has a thirty day, and longer of shelf life!! They have whole milk, 2% milk, low-fat milk, and they just started making chocolate milk too!! I was craving chocolate milk forever, but I had to take a double look when I saw Fair-Life Chocolate milk!! I finally got to drink Chocolate Milk that’s lactose Free!! Ohhhhh, I was so happy!! I thought I would let you know about it, and/or your viewers about this yummy milk. Again, thank you for teaching me how to cook grits from scratch. You got a new subscriber!! 👍✌️😊😀🤩🤩😃

Same here, we have something similar in Germany, it's basically a sweet porridge made with milk and coarsely ground wheat.. And it's usually for children. Or you take the unsweetened porridge, pour it into a container, let it cool and cut it up into slices and fry it until golden.
