Großartiges Dampflokfest auf der Severn Valley Railway

Vom 18.-21.4. fand auf der Severn Valley Railway die alljährlich Spring Steam Gala statt. Auf der 26 Kilometer langen Strecke wurde mit insgesamt neun Maschinen über die Tage ein abwechslungsreiches Programm geboten.
Im Video zusehen sind:
4930 "Hagley Hall"
Pannier Tank 1369
LMS Mogul 13268
Lambton 29
7812 "Erlestoke Manor"
Terrier No 72 "Fenchurch"
BR Standard 4 75069
Zusätzlich fuhren waren noch
die Pannier Tank 7714 und 34027 "Taw Valley" im Einsatz, welche allerdings nicht im Video zusehen sind.

Hallo Morten, what a treat! The Severn Valley Railway is bigger than our local steam railway in Swanage, and some of the trains are longer. The brown Pullman carriages seen on the first train shown were used on the Bournemouth Belle service, which ran non stop between Bournemouth and Waterloo until 1967. The preferred locomotives were Bulleid Pacifics because they could haul the weight and had good acceleration. I grew up in Bournemouth and this train was really famous. That was a long time ago, but Pullman carriages are still used on steam hauled heritage trains on British main lines. Hallo again Hans, it's is indeed a treat to see these trains. You're correct, British locomotives and rolling stock are very distinctive, as are French and German examples too of course. Look after yourself, LG Bob 🍻
