Grocery Haul for Family of 13!

Welcome to my first video in almost two years! We have grown to a family of 13, and the weeks roll round quickly when it comes to meal planning and grocery shopping around here!
This is the first of many grocery haul and recipe/meal prep videos that I look forward to bringing you in the coming weeks.

So nice to see you back on KZfaq Liana! Welcome back! I see you have a new addition to the family in last two years. Congratulations. Considering you have so many mouths to feed your grocery haul didn't seem too huge for two weeks. I smiled when you mentioned you bought "serviettes". I grew up in Canada where we say serviettes as well. I've been living in the United States for the past 16 years where it's "napkins". Take care. :)

Thank you! Yes, this was very much my, ‘just get back into it even if it’s not perfect’ video, so I didn’t do much intro/explaining re. the family or anything. I’ll definitely introduce Charlie in a future video. I also have to do a fill-in haul after the first week, which tends to be about a quarter of the initial shop in size/cost. I’ll explain that in future videos, too…I was honestly so nervous just to get started again 😆

Liana!!...where have you been!!😢...I've missed you terribly!...I love this haul as I do all of your hauls...so many goodies and meals that come to mind. The children have grown so much and are adorable. Thank you for sharing and returning...please don't stay gone for so long❤❤❤

Yay glad your back 😊. Im Aussie mum of 6. I want to congratulate you for not buying so much junk food and processed crap! (I watch some hauls big families so much processed food!) It can be hard when we cook for so many but our familes are so much healier for it!

Thank you! I appreciate that, though I do think it’s because I was raised eating real food. Not once did my parents serve me chicken nuggets… So I’ve not been inclined to purchase things that don’t appeal. (I have served these to my kids for a ‘fun lunch’, but they weren’t into them 🤷🏻‍♀️😆). My philosophy is basically, as long as the foundation of their diet is based on sound nutrition, there’s nothing wrong with foods that are purely for the joy 😄

Hello Liana. Nice to see you back on. Was a great shop for 2weeks. All the sweets looked really nice. There was one sweet you got Boston buns you called them. Got my curiosity up!! What is a Boston bun (I'm from Boston Massachusetts) and was wondering what they are. I've seen your uploads on Instagram you and your family are all so grown-up. Time sure flies. Hello! The Boston Bun is an Australian treat. Apparently it has mashed potato in it, though I’ve never actually made one myself. It’s incredibly soft, and we serve it sliced, with butter. It has a lovely whipped icing, dusted in desiccated coconut. I’ve not much of a sweet tooth, but it is a favourite of mine. No one is sure where the name originates. It could have been created by someone with the last name ‘Boston’, or could have been created during Victoria’s Gold Rush by someone who came out from Boston. Or some other story, entirely. One thing I can tell you - it’s delicious! ☺️

Awesome to see you back 😊 Would you consider doing a segment on snacks, what do you feed your kids in between meals. We seem to have the main meals sorted but its all the snacky type foods that are the killer on the budget. Everything is so expensive now, ideas are always gratefully received!

Nice to see you back after your break! Great hauls. :) If you wouldn't mind leaving a total of the spends at the end, that'd be terrific ... it'd give us all a point of reference to work with comparing prices in our local Coles and Woolies. Hoping to see some meal prep videos soon. :D

Indeed! Life has rolled on - baby, house move, feeding many - normal life. For a time, my computer was broken, which got me out of the habit of making videos. Then it becomes really difficult to get back into it. I had to assess whether I could dedicate the time, and also deal with the nonsense that can come with social media. I’ve always been quite lucky in having such great viewers - but I’ve seen some KZfaqrs treated badly. Came to the realisation that I don’t owe anyone anything. I’m not even monetised anymore/yet. If I was coming back to KZfaq it had to be for the joy of it. So here I am 😊
