Welcome to my channel! In today's video, I'm showing you a realistic grocery shop for a family of 13. With Christmas just around the corner (at the time of filming), we're starting to stock up on some festive treats and baking items to celebrate the season. Grab a cuppa and relax as I show you two-weeks worth of groceries for my large family. Whether you are interested in how a large family shops in Australia, or just looking for some fun holiday meal inspiration, this video will have you covered.

We only have 5 kids but it cracks me up how exponential this must seem to small families. We are US based but it's interesting how similar kids are across the globe.

It’s true! Three packets of chips looks insane, but it’s really the equivalent of one packet 🤭 I love how you say, “only have five kids”….when I had three children, I thought five was a huge family. It’s so funny how we adapt.

Hahaha….nothing wrong with you - it’s relaxing to watch others go about life, I think. I often listen to podcasts to go to sleep, just to silence my own thoughts 😆

Happy Christmas Liana and fam. I give my children a cadbury choccy sock each year, this year will be the last, too much for my kids all that sugar they dont stop eating it all day, also my 2 year old waking boxing day morning at 4.50am saying she felt sick, only reason i could think of was the amount of sugar she grazed on the whole day hers or her brothers and sisters! 🤦‍♀️ i felt hungover after that and didnt touch a drop of anything 😫. Next year i hope to save up and just go to Qland for a week lol. Hopefully the weather will sort it self by then. 🙃 Make sure you put your feet up and rest, i have to remind myself! 💚

Merry Christmas! Oh dear, yes, I hear you! We’re all feeling a bit over the Christmas food today. Even just the act of grazing on healthier food…I think I’d fast for a couple of days if I weren’t breastfeeding. Over the food! 😆 I hope you all recover a sense of equilibrium. A trip to QLD sounds like you’ve got a good plan! Xx

Merry Christmas Liana! I hope you and your family had a nice Christmas. Today is Boxing Day in UK and Canada (where I'm from). Wish they had it here in the US. Everything is back to normal on the 26th. Do you have Boxing Day in Austalia?

Merry Christmas! Yes, we have Boxing Day in Australia 🙂 It’s my favourite day of the year 🤣 However, the last couple of years we’ve also entertained on Boxing Day, so the day after is now my favourite day of the year 😆

My husband grew up in Virginia and New Jersey and absolutely loved Captain Crunch 😆 Yes, full of sugar though. We stick to Weetbix through the week, which doesn’t have any sugar. Sometimes I allow some honey drizzled over, but not every day.

How do you afford such expensive groceries. With a teachers salary?

I only give prices of groceries because people requested that I do so for comparison, considering exchange rates, etc. However, I’m not willing to discuss income, as that is a private matter and I have firm internet safety boundaries. I will say, we purposely became professionals so that we would have secure incomes. Teachers are well paid professionals in this country. I understand that is not the case everywhere. Groceries are expensive everywhere. For all groceries (food, household, and toiletries), we generally spend about $7.5 AU per head/per day. That’s the equivalent of a single person spending $53 AU per week on groceries. Pretty impressive, considering the cost of living and the fact that we eat really well. We prioritise groceries over unnecessary items, such as the latest technology. I also love to shop bulk, deals, and clearance. Bang for buck is a great thing. I haven’t been to the outlet store or bulk produce supplier in a while, as I’m so busy, but I do love to get deals where possible. Ultimately, I like to think that money spent on groceries is an investment.
