Mushrooms did wonders in my life. I could remember several years ago after divorce with my wife which brought me into my disastrous journey on Alcohol and cigarettes. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.

100% agree I used to have Psychosis and paranoid thoughts like "people thinking about me talking about me etc. Very odd behavior after getting off Adderall from 7-16. Antidepressants at 18-29. 31 now. I took way to much, but took about 20g of Gold caps (Psilocybin containing mushroom) I analyzed my entire life. The emotions that came out helped me understand behavior etc more. Wont ever need to do it again because I'm happy and contempt forever, but I wish more people did this to alter their perception of reality. Would help with healing much trauma

From my experience it really works excellently! It doesnt even need to be a full hit. With potent shrooms 2-3 small ones will still make a clear difference. It will be a few hour cosy rumbling moment around rest time, but afterwards its just calm and you feel amazing and gain your freedom. Psilocybin is different dudes, its the only "treatment" I would recommend to someone who genuinely wants to get better. There is no addiction, withdrawal, or negative side effects. It's just pure healing., far more effective than any anti-depressant. You can thank me later,

When drilling into thin plastic, it's best to run the drill backwards. This avoids the plastic cracking and splitting on the drill's teeth, instead using friction heat to melt through where contact is made.

I think you probably could grow anything in buckets at this inoculation ratio. It's basically taking a grow mix type ratio (40/60) and separating out it's high and low nutrient parts, and colonizing the high nutrient in sterile conditions, and then you don't need to bother with sanitation for the low nutrient part. I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be too much of a yield penalty here. It would be interesting to see masters mix separated out this way, colonize the soy hulls under sterile tech, then dump it in a bucket of sawdust.

I'm glad you found the video helpful! The key is to use hardwood pellets, not softwood ones. Typically, hardware stores will have cheap bags of hardwood pellets that are a blend of hardwood species, and then more expensive bags with particular types of hardwood species. In my experience, the cheap bags work just fine.

Very interesting substrate, i noticed its very common to use hardwood fuel pellets and wheat bran mixed together, but this video proves hardwood fuel pellets can be used by itself as well. Going to try your way, but im going to add one cup of wheat bran just for more nutrients. Hopefully that does not mess up the moisture content. Thank you for the video!
@folkfungi
@folkfungi Жыл бұрын
Let me know how it goes! Adding wheat bran without sterilization increases the chance for contamination. If your substrate becomes contaminated, try half a cup or less. But if you use a really high spawn rate, like the one used in this video, I think you can get away with using a decent amount of unsterilized wheat bran.
@18Hands
@18Hands 9 ай бұрын
You can add something like gypsum safely, but since the wood pellets are mostly sterilized, any other nutrients you add will more than likely get moldy unless you sterilize the substrate mix.

Hi. Great Video! Very nicely explained, and almost calming :) I have some lions mane LC in the fridge, and wondering if you think I could produce brf cakes to use as spawn? Or is it better to invest in a PC and sterilise some grain?

Thank you! I personally don't have any experience with brf cakes.

This is simple. I like it. I never know you could mix the pellets without sterilizing. How come you didn’t add wheat bran?

Great. That's a very simple but effective technique. What's the humidity range from start to finish. Thanks for your post.
@folkfungi
@folkfungi Жыл бұрын
Ideally, try to keep the humidity in the 80% to 90% range, but it will grow decently in the 70s.

holla :) excellent work and video. I have some questions? did you choose the size of the bucket by chance? Did you try with a larger bucket? did you try with a different substrate? the pellet can become expensive and have access to sawdust. Is it a good idea? thanks for your time and keep doing this, your smile motivates me to start growing .

Thank you! I chose a smaller bucket because I live in a smaller home, but you can definitely use a larger bucket, like a 5 gallon one. I haven't tried with a different substrate. Lion's mane mushrooms prefer hardwood. Hope this helps!

Really enjoyed your video. Very informative. I've caught the mushroom bug! 🍄 I bought oyster mushrooms, put the stem butts to colonize the mycelium in coffee grounds. They are now fruiting beautifully! After watching your video, I ordered some Lion's Mane LC from a family run business on Vancouver Island. Then I went out and bought my own 8 lt Canadian Tire bucket! Some questions though. What do you think of putting 4 - 1" holes around the bucket? Should I add drainage holes in the bottom? Once the pinning begins, can I put the bucket in the shot gun fruiting station I made? If so, what do you think is a good humidity level? Hope to hear from you!

Hi Elizabeth. Thanks for the kind words! It makes me happy that you bought the exact same Canadian Tire bucket! I think four 1" holes would work great. And yup, a shotgun fruiting chamber would work nicely for this bucket. In terms of humidity, aim to keep it in the 80-90% range. Hope this is helpful!

Great video! Thanks for sharing! How many times can you get them to grow? And what is the total cost?

Thank you for showing how to grow them like this! I have been wondering though: is the humidity tent enough to keep the spores from spreading around the house, or is that not a concern with this type of mushroom (as long as you harvest it early enough)?
@folkfungi
@folkfungi Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Lion's mane doesn't release its spores until the spines are quite long, and for taste, you'd want to harvest it well before that.

@folkfungi

Thanks, Shane! I plan on making more content, and I have a few more videos in the works. The hole saw I used is two inches, but a one inch hole saw would work well too.

You can get the pellets from hardware stores, and you can find spawn online.

Nice method thank you ! Did you try it with other than oyster mushroom ? What is the protocol after the first harvest for the next flushes, you just spray, no resting time ?
@folkfungi
@folkfungi Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I've tried it with lion's mane and oyster mushrooms. After the first harvest, just continue to spray and keep things humid! My second flush for this bucket started about 5 days after harvesting the first one.
