Man, I wish my game was an ULTRAKILL clone. Maybe then I wouldn't secretly wish for a slow and painful death at the behest of my most trusted friends and family.
A guy can dream.
ANYWAY, yesterday (July 14th, 2022) marks the closing of the first month spent merging the new systems into a playable game. In that month I managed to make the best main menu screen the game has ever had, polish up the gameplay to a point I'd argue is near-releasable (which I imagine I will double back on this statement once the update releases and everyone hates it), as well as make some significant improvements in overall gameplay feel and direction.
And not to be outmatched, the art that Krev has been working on has brought the visual polish to a whole other level as well. I feel like soon (very soon) we might be reaching the "Golden Age" of GTTOD, which is something that has been mentioned by players numerous times. Now, that might sound great, but maybe the fact that we've reached this "Golden Age" so many times is more of an observation that the game has much further to go rather than the game continually improving over the years - which is not to say that both can't be true, but rather that maybe we should stop calling things the "Golden Age" of the game since at that point we've effectively stopped looking at how the game can improve even further.
There's always room for improvement, and I hope that this next update will show that clear as day.
