I know no one wants to hear this, but as someone getting into gpu repair pascal cards are dying off like like flies its inevitable graphics cards have a lot of little components and everything has a time limit. Some times the fix is cheap other times it is more work and parts than its worth sadly same with 2016 era amd polaris cards they were mined to death, hell even used rtx 3000 gpus are huge gamble, many of which the vram is wore out dying from mining.

I recommend trying war robots frontiers for performance testing. Its currently in early access and looks amazing, however it is quite a demanding title. Keep up the good work man, these video's are very useful

I still can't wrap my head, how this game developers managed to achieve beautiful looking game like this without over relying on RT, i agree with what you said, it's one of the best looking game out there for me as well and since it's not forcing RT, any decent gpus can handle this game quite nicely.

Almost as if RT in a lot of cases doesn't improve the visual fidelity enough to justify the performance penalty that comes with using RT.

Its horrible to be honest. Textures are bad, no physics at all everything is static, lods are very bad too, shadows are completely mediocre. Must run on 1060 medium at locked 60fps.

I remember the GTX 1080 being branded as a 4K card, heck even the 980 was laughably sold as a 4K card. The reality was very different though and I don't recall playing anything @4K on my 1080. A great GPU all the same, it probably gave me more years of acceptable gaming performance than any other card I've owned.

Man, what a damn good card that GTX 1080 is! It still holds up and delivers after 8 years. Who would have thought? I still got mine and use it. Even in 2024 no need to upgrade. And with FSR3 it has even a few more years to go. 👍👍❤️

9:55 mark, you say, 1440p looks better than 1080p. You have no idea how many times i had this debate with some users. Some would argue with me and tell me there is pretty much no difference. But, then i tell them, its LITERALLY in the pixel count. 1440p is just soo much better, especially when you play SP games like Horizon, and ESPECIALLY Red Dead 2.

If u play both resolutions at same monitor inches like 27, then yes, but if you compare 1080p on 24'' and 144O on 27'' the difference is not that big

@@pinchitv I had a Asus 24" 1080 144hz monitor, and currently have a Asus 1440p 27" 165hz monitor. I did the comparison. I actually made a video about it. It was pretty much a night vs day experience. Maybe for games like Overwatch to Counterstrike i really couldn't see that much difference? But, for games like Red Dead 2, Far Cry, Cyberpunk, God of war, etc, 1440p all the way, 1080p can't even come close. I know the quality goes down as you go higher inch with the monitor. And, again, you kinda proving my point on those who i debate with on this topic.

@@pinchitv You clearly didn't experience 1440p gaming it seems like? Again, I experienced BOTH monitors at the same time. I upgraded from 1080p to 1440p for a reason. Even OP of this video agree with me? Its literally in the numbers, i don't know what else to tell ya? 1080p has 2.1 million pixels. 1440p has 3.7 million pixels. " come on bruh"🤦‍♂. And you know whats funny? Ironically, you indicated 1080p 24" to 4k 32" is a night and day experience. Cause guess what? 4k 32" has the SAME PPi for 1440p 27", look it up, that's why they also have 27" 4k. lol.. thanks for proving my point? 🤷‍♂

That's true. The GTX 480 only gets about 25 FPS at 720p low in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey from 2018 xD.

This was also back in the time where a 60 tier card literally matched the 80 tier card of previous gen, which is fucking crazy, can you imagine the 5060 matching a 4080

@@cnk-fn3nr Yes, it seems that performance jumps slowed in the mid-range tier from the RTX 30 series onwards. The RTX 2060 is similar to the GTX 1080, but the 3060 was closest to the RTX 2070, and then the RTX 4060 didn't even match the RTX 3060 Ti, yet alone the RTX 3070.

@@cnk-fn3nr Yes, it seems like performance increase have slowed a lot in the mid-range tier from the RTX 30 series onwards. Based on the past generation, the RTX 5060 will probably be similar to the RTX 3070 in power. Hopefully, it will have 12GB VRAM though and not 8GB.

You should use XESS 1.3 for this one, should be in the game already and it looks so much better than FSR. Basically just ditch FSR whenever you have access to the 1.3 version of XESS, or just mod in the dll.

It still flicker a bit like around quen NPC, and FSR still give more performance, but if you have performance overhead i agree, xess 1.3 quality is quite ahead compared to FSR

FSR 3.1 is coming by the end of this June. XeSS is more expensive while FSR gives more performance. But for now, XeSS is the better option if you still want somewhat decent upscaler. Things will get better. 🤷🏻‍♀️

PS5 dozen run on Medium settings! It runs on optimized settings as the way it were meant to be played on PC as well. Imagine getting a capable hardware to limit the performance itself to the preset. Each games have their own resource budget pool to benefit PS5 hardware fully. Thanks to enough VRAM on the PS5, it does run Burning Shores well. However this grandfather GPU are much faster than my 3060 6GB on High settings in Burning Shores areas by 10 fps gademit! I do agree Medium textures in this game looks so rough, it looks like molten plastic or so like you usually said. That's gross but that's the best what 6GB capable of doing. With FG you can rest assured to get 60 fps plus all of the time in the Burning Shores areas and no, there's no major input lag, just few spikes here and there if you don't have enough VRAM. The difference is that mine not only start swapping into the RAM, but the GPU power also going to hell. Previously I only can do Low textures only. What an improvements. Medium textures dozen look any better than Low textures though. 🙂

Depends. If the game have poor LOD, poor shadow pop in, crappy textures and very flat shadowing etc on Low and Medium, I would rather 1080p with full capacity though. Higher resolution is like higher refresh rate; you never want to go back but that's just gross. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I used to use Radeon Boost (Dynamic Resolution Scaling) and sometimes Radeon Chill (FPS cap).... Radeon Boost might actually be a better option than FSR is some games. Though you would still get the pixilation in movement. It was less of an issue ten years ago when flat panel monitors were not great at showing movement so the lower resolutions in movement were not easily noticed. Oh- RandomGaminginHD just did a video on a 1 GB GTX 560 (paired with an i5 8400) and somehow had smooth gameplay in Fortnite. Maybe your system is just too good for it? Lol.

I just saw the mini soft tablet review of yours... Then I realized that with a Laptop with those specs, gaming is just not it and even if you do so, you should play lower intensive games like eSports titles or older titles or possibly a game like Genshin Impact! Genshin Impact is easier to run on desktop GPU's, but I wanna see it being tested by you on laptop GPU's! I may actually buy a laptop in 3 months, primarily for programming only, but I haven't tried let's say GTA V and Genshin are my favorite anyway so yeah... Is that Laptop you've tested is capable of running elder ring?

Burning shores is terribly optimized on the cpu side.8700K @4,6ghz often drops to 40-50s and stutters a lot whenever you rotate the camera too fast for things to render.It's almost unplayable sometimes

Quick question, I'm still using the legendary i7 7700 and 1080 combo (upgrading this year) but I bought this game at launch and struggled to get 15 FPS which was unplayable, I tried my best but ended up getting it refunded. I've seen so many on these tests with the 1080 but mine wouldn't. So, is it my cpu that is letting is down as the gpu can still clearly handle and play it even at 4k so that can't be the issue, or was the game just badly optimized for the older cards at launch and now after a few patches runs great on them? Anyone had the same issue's or can answer these, really want to play it but don't want to buy it again and have the same issue's over and over.

Yes, upscaler dozen reduce the VRAM usage in all games, this is where most people got wrong.

I have lenovo legion 5 with rtx 2060 and i7 10750h When i update my game ready drive to latest version 552.22 My frametime went from 15-20 ms to 60ms it happens for every game i have And when i downgrade to previous version (i think it is 522.25) it comes back to 15-20ms how can i fix it?

Gtx 1650 laptop are basically the same as desktop gpu, unless it is like 30 watt variant instead of 50 watt

Ps4 pro is playable in 4k which looks like high to medium graphics. Stop spreading misinformation. Ps4 pro fps is capped at 30 and 60 in some games. Good gtx 108p
