Can NEVER get enough of Jake! Plays with no bar, always plays unconventional notes, great rhythm player, badass showman. His playing always sounds on the edge and has danger in it but he always nails it. He has that quality that girls want him and guys want to be him. He got screwed by Ozzy and then screwed by Ray in a way. Red Dragon Cartel is cool but sometimes I feel that band is not on his level, but I'm glad he's making music again.

Sad but true, Ray as incredible as he is, was the downfall of that incredible band. And i'm not even mentioning the issues with Atlantic and his supposed "victims", but when Badlands were booked for a big tour supporting AC/DC, they had to cancel for Ray's pneumonia, and never got another chance for a big break again. A band doomed from the start. Jake wasn't very lucky in his career.

Jake doesn't play the guitar, he has an intimate relationship with it. Doesn't use a a Tremolo bar and he bends and blends notes like a god. After joining Ozzy and stepping into the huge shoes of Legend Randy Rhoads in 82 and playing for Mickey Ratt (Ratt) he was highly underrated and underappreciated. In my eyes, Jake is in company with greats such as Hendrix.

Coming in a bit late, anyway. As a guitarist myself, I get the vulnerability of sitting down and working out songs in front of someone. I used to teach Guitar back when I was in high school, and dudes and dude'ets would bring in material that I had to breakdown and then show them in a 30-minute time frame. Most of the time, it would be pretty straight forward, but those times someone would bring in the goods, it was panic time lol. I respect you putting yourself out there doing what is, for a lot of guitarists, the epic pulling down your pants on stage. BTW, Jake is one of my favorites of all time.

Ozzy could have never come up with stuff like Ray did. Ozzy’s stuff with Jake might not be able to stand the test of time but Badlands will. Its sad though because of what Ray did in his last days these albums are not available on amazon, apple or anywhere. Fuck that shit man. What is Jake doing about that. This music needs to be available on all major platforms so that it reaches everywhere. Otherwise it just fades away from people’s memories. Thanks to youtube that it somehow still survives.

i was a randy rhoads freak, and zakk wilde fan, with oz as well as quiet riot, pride and glory and a bit less black label society... moment i saw jake with ozzy videos and his live full solos i forgot the other two. jake is radical, traditional music player blues oriented and stuff as a composer but as a guitarist hes like no one... and after seeing badlands highwire live footage i forgot about ozzy for good. badlands was the best non 70s era rock and roll band yet very 70s r n r based btw. jake made me forget great players first time i checked his playing. and i cant get tired of his music, hes never forgotten master since first time digging his music. red dragon cartel is pretty awesome, patina is greatest r n r record on this era imho. they know how to make rock not hits, fuck what music has become since many, myself included dont take the style further, red dragon cartel does, as badlands did. miss ray. jake rules supreme

a forgotten master, pretty much unfair, could be paul kossof or even lenny breau, quite a damn shame, but jake to be fair has enjoyed success and a premature legend status bc he deserved despite all he had to endure, and most important hes a very very beloved guitarist by anyone who loves his music. he isnt a forgotten master at all

I knew I had that ass!!! You asked who the drummer was. The drummer for the Voodoo Highway and Dusk albums was Jeff Martin, who was also the singer for Racer X. No shredding there. I always loved Jake's rhythm playing, but this solo is my favorite of his. To me, this has a little bit of VH and John Sykes to it. I'll spare you this time on John Sykes. I love playing with great guitar players and I've had the privilege of playing with some great one's. You're in my top 5.

Jake was an absolute monster player. Damn shame how Sharon did him. He deserved to be much bigger and have a much longer career. Zack was great but Jake was the man.

- i am begging you to watch Santana’s “Song of the Wind - live” from from 1988 - Viva Santana! Santana is one of the greatest melodic writers in American music history and this performance combines finesse with rarely matched intensity.

Badlands is impossible to deny inspire of Ray doing unconscionable shit. Jake E Lee sat in gold after getting fired from Ozzy, he became a damned dragon!

After leaving Ozzy Jake created Badlands, Jake said, if you don't like his playing in Badlands then you don't like him. Badlands has always been his style of play, he just did what he had to do in Ozzy. I think that's a pretty strong statement considering how good his songwriting was with Ozzy.

Great display by a great player that nobody can do Jake. You can play the notes perfectly and still not capture anywhere near his soul and attack.
