"He's preaching. He's preaching he's preaching he's preaching. There's so much hope in here, and so much misery. It's the battle of dark vs light, and it's reflected in piece of this song." That is the perfect description of Manchester Orchestra's entire discography.

Here's hoping you find out it's a concept album and the entire thing is a story. This song is the narrative of the man who's raising his brother's baby girl. His brother took his life out of depression and alcoholism, passed on to them by their father. He's talking about how much the little girl has changed his life and helped him get out of the cycle his family was in. The whole album is about the downfall of his brother though and its the single most influential piece of art in my life.

Thank you. This brought me to tears. Manchester Orchestra has been a band my soul has been tied with for 15 years now. This song is a phenomenal ending to the album Black Mile. Their most recent album is just as good, if not better. The Million Masks of God. The closer to the album is called The Internet and it really compliments this song. I found Manchester about a year after their first album release. To watch the journey of these guys from that first, absolute banger, of an album, through to million masks has been one of the highlights of my life. Their music and lyrics reach right down through you and find your soul, no matter how dark and dank the place it’s in may be. And with the pain of despair they help you find hope. What a gift this band is to everyone who gets to hear them. And if Andy and the gang happens to see this, cope at the earl… genius, it was like a performance of the perfect blend of hope/cope. Thanks a ton.

Manchester Orchestra is one of several great American rock bands of the 00's that have kind of glossed over by the industry, despite still cranking out great albums (Thrice comes to mind). Manchester Orchestra has many heavier rock songs with more guitar hooks than a tackle box, e.g. the entire Cope album. Listen to Shake It Out or The Gold or Tony The Tiger, I've got Friends...they are masters of the rock Ballad with songs like I Can Feel a Hot One....So many of those millennial rock band that are still making great rock are kind of pushed aside, despite evolving and growing as artists. I'm glad you are giving one of those bands some love...

If you really want to see another couple examples of Tim Very's mastery of the kit, check out the songs "Leave it Alone" and "The Wolf" by Manchester Orchestra. Dude is a genius, he has such a mastery of grabbing you emotionally with his drumming-- something I've never quite experienced by another drummer.

Damn haha, I haven’t listened to this band in so long. They were really popular when I was in my early 20’s.

Andy Hull and Manchester Orchestra has been my favorite band since I first heard Like a Virgin in probably 2009. I love seeing people dissect and appreciate their music. It’s something truly special.

I repeatedly listen to tracks that Palmisano suggests, due to his reaction videos. It is rare that I hear him reacting to great music that I already know. Kudos to him for knowing how great Manchester orchestra is.

Manchester Orchestra is such a damn good band. Damned underrated as well. Only found them by shear randomness a couple of years ago and I'm so hooked.
