Thanks! It's... a very interesting game. I think I'd like it a lot more if your ship weren't so slow. The bombs are really cool though, the fact that you can aim them (they move opposite to the direction you're holding) is neat. I really like Metal Black, aka Gun Frontier 2. :)

Thanks. I'm a bit confused by the high score screen at the end - I got an ALL clear but it says Round 6. And other ALL clear runs it clearly says Round ALL. Maybe that double kill at the end glitched it out? I honestly don't know.

I've heard and read many places that say how crucial it is to control rank. I completely ignored them and did this at 20 hz autofire. Turns out it's largely bunk; the game is tough but manageable even at max rank. If you want to avoid autofire rank, the trick is to use a slow autofire. Apparently the game checks if you have tapped the shot button within 8 frames of the last press, and that's what ups rank. Anything slower does not up rank from shooting. Hence, 6.6 hz and slower is "safe" to use if you want to minimize rank (which will still be high at the end of the game if you have lots of lives/bombs stocked). I am terrible at Garegga (and many Yagawa games admittedly) so I don't know for sure, but I have seen at least one run done deliberately with no rank control as Miyamoto I think... so it might be doable? I can't even remember if it was a TAS or not.

Here, I think this was the video I am mis remembering: m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fr-IZspzsbGvlZ8.html It looks quite reasonable at first until you see the boss's phase that fires HOLY COW GIANT SNIPER shots, so yeah, you want to rank control Garegga which is kinda why I don't like it, obtuse rank control sucks :(

​@@BareKnuckleRoo People seem to love it after spending enough time playing, so I guess there has to be something to it... but yeah, it sucks! :P I have little to no experience with Yagawa games because of its obtuse rank control. I don't find it appealing at all. Maybe one day... I believe in second chances. Rank control should only be a thing for scoring or making for an easier clear, not to just get a clear IMO. I don't want to play carefully doing stuff I have to learn elsewhere just to beat a game. Maybe one day...
