If you have never been to Sikkim then let me take you on virtual travel experience to Gurudongmar lake in north Sikkim.
In this video, I am travelling from the tiny village, Lachen, to Gurudongmar Lake and ending the day in Lachung. Gurudongmar Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world and in India, at an elevation of 5,430 m according to the Government of Sikkim. It is located in the Great Himalayas in the Indian state of Sikkim, and considered sacred by Buddhists, Sikhs and Hindus. It is one of the most beautiful, pristine lakes that I have set my eyes on.
The lake was gleaming and glistening in the sun and the water was so blue that I forgot all my tiredness and was lost in the beauty of it - nature is STUNNING!
Sikkim : Sikkim is a state in northeast India, bordered by Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal. Part of the Himalayas, the area has a dramatic landscape that includes India’s highest mountain, 8,586m Kangchenjunga. Sikkim is also home to glaciers, alpine meadows and thousands of varieties of wildflowers. Steep paths lead to hilltop Buddhist monasteries such as Pemayangtse, which dates to the early 1700s.
