Best commentary I've heard. He's funny and serious at the same time. The other guys give you a hint to the danger. Horst is so descriptive and articulate that I have a new respect for these riders.

For sure, these bikes are arguably way to fast for a road race that was started back when fast bikes were very slow in comparison. The condition of many parts are so bad with bumps/undulations and man holes and more, these guys are heros, full on respect.

A lot of people that have never been on a motorcycle before might think that this isn't that difficult. As a kid I started racing motocross thinking that it wouldn't be exhausting or difficult at all... I was very surprised when I couldn't handle the throttle with care anymore because of arm pump after just one lap.

Precisely what I was about to say. Marc Flynn did a similar commentary on a 600 a few years ago (thinking about it, it was 15+ years ago, as I hid it on video tape) which was very similar in delivery and information.

Now near 70 I have had a career of racing from karts to GTP and from the old SS/BA days to a short stint in AA/FC and now ending with grudge match racing. I've ridden mostly Honda on two wheels and now nearing a million miles riding for pleasure on some fast crotch rockets. I 've been lucky and I've broken bones. The guys you see in these vids about the TT are simply batshit crazy! Must be something in the water there because the spectators are just as batshit nuts as the riders.

Katt Mann I am 69 so we have that in common. Did this on TZ 350 and TZ 750 in Amerika for 6 years in 1970s. Talking about grudge match racing, let me say this right now ... A very humble and educational commentry but no need to be humble 90% of us so called bikers could not do whay you are doing and to keep pace with Mr Martin you are doing ok trust me you really are !!!! I love that quote!! Its a great philosophy. I could just imagine him saying - "its no problem if your arm falls off/if you run into a cows rear end/if a large tree falls on you, coz you are on full throttle". Hope youre all well an good.

Amazing, especially when you have ridden the circuit yourself and have to stick to 30 mph in some places and these bikes go through Kirk Michael at warp speed! Great video and commentary.

Thank you Horst. I visited the IOM from 1981 to 1990 then sadly had to give up bikes for a mortgage and family. This video has taken me back to my younger days when life was much simpler. Just wish I could get back there but riding with you and your excellent commentary helped a lot. Thanks again, and MASSIVE respect to you.

Holy shit this is so amazing. And no sir, what you are doing does not look easy . The way you snap the bike this way, then that way all within those tight walls is mind boggling. How you process everything this calmly. The TT race is something only for a master. No one can do what you do sir, you are very humble. Great video thank you

yeh, piece of piss hahaha. These guys literally see the road differently to the rest of us. I remember watching Guy Martin commenting on a lap of the TT and he said something along the lines of "look out for the 30 sign, then scrub about 50 off so you come into the corner doing about 130mph..." Awesome sport, brilliant event, I abosolutely love the TT.
