I used to love using the Haas effect to double guitar rhythm tracks... until I heard one of my songs on a Bluetooth, mono, speaker. This video describes the Haas pitfall and adjustments you can make to still use Haas doubling without it sounding weak and thin when played back in mono. Also included are a couple of other methods to spread a mono track and a quick 3rd party plug-in demo (Waves Audio PS22).
