Hello again! nice shop, your students are lucky to have someone like you!

G’day Rick. Good to hear from you mate. Thank you buddy you’re too kind. Thanks for watching and talk again soon. Cheers 🍻

You are spoiling the students Aaron, when I was an apprentice the welders had to grind their own weld preps!! All part of the fun! 😅. Great machine shop by the way. Cheers Ian
@DCT_Aaron_Engineering Жыл бұрын
G’day Ian how have you been mate. Yes they are bloody spoiled aren’t they. I just do it to help out the fabrication (boiler maker) teachers. We have a technical officer at the TAFE who cuts these up on the band saw. He usually manually machines these. I offered to help him out and do them in CNC. Much cleaner and easier process too. Cheers Ian 🍻

Kimber my buddy. How are you mate? I’m so sorry that you haven’t heard from me in a longtime. I’ve been very slack and focusing my time in other area. I’m currently back trying to get all my RC helicopters back up running and flying again. Great to hear from you Kimber. Take care mate. Aaron 👍🍻

Thanks Tom. Hope you’re doing well buddy. Yes mate I machined a total 💯 of these with a bevel each side. Took me a while, as each side was 37seconds. About 3.5hrs all up. Cheers mate 🍻

Nice machine - if only one could afford such stuff - Oh - and have cleaners that good that the shop looks so pristine.... Martin

HiMate, I hope the welding students appreciate the quality of their test pieces. In the old days they would have been roughly ground chamfers for weld prep.
@DCT_Aaron_Engineering Жыл бұрын
Hey mate how are you? Yes I agree with you. They better bloody appreciate it, as it took me most of the day to do it 😆. I know the fabrication teachers appreciate it. To be honest, I should have had our mechanical apprentices running the lathe. Thanks for watching 🍻

Definitely a Nice machine. Especially good for job shop workshops. When you showed the 6 inch Pipe sections, I straightaway remember using these pipe sections for doing both Stick and Mig Welding tickets. Not sure IF they still call it 3E for Stick and 8F Flux Core ?? It definitely brings back some memories though. I also remember the best of the best coming in to do their Tickets without any practice ??? Ironically a fair few of these guys failed the test ??? That definitely deflated their egos 😅 I must get up to see you one day soon. Looking forward to a free lunch 😉

G’day Peter. You need to pop up to Heidelberg sometime to check it out. Fridays are best and I’ll shout you a Vietnamese pork roll. Yes these 6” pipes (169mm OD) are practice pieces for the apprentices to use. They will be hydraulically tested with water but I can’t remember the pressure now. I’m not sure if they use a stick or MIG on these. Great to hear from you Peter. I haven’t had the time for videos lately and just shot this in the spur of the moment. Cheers mate 🍻 Ps: mmm pork roll 🥪 😋

@@DCT_Aaron_Engineering Definitely looking forward to coming up to see you one day. Thankfully the CNC Lathe is making a huge difference to how much work I can complete in any one week. Reading your thoughts in a reply below ?? CNC anything Definitely have their advantages. But, their is always a Bad to every Good. It does get fairly boring 😴 waiting for parts. Of course it's definitely better than cranking handles all day 😬 I am even starting to get back to a point of having a life again too ⛱️

@@weldmachine I bet that new lathe of yours has made a huge difference to your workflow. She is definitely a bloody beauty that is for sure. A very nice machine. For sure mate. Look forward to seeing you.

Hello, nice machine. I want to know where did you get that chip conveyor. I need one for my tl-2
@DCT_Aaron_Engineering11 ай бұрын
The chip conveyer is made by Haas and it came with the machine (extra cost). Contact your Haas Factory Outlet and the should be able to sell you the kit. 👍

What is the differences between Haas TL lathe and Haas ST lathe?
@DCT_Aaron_Engineering4 ай бұрын
TL stands for tool room lathe. Still a capable CNC machine, but best suited for job shop (1 off parts, manual operations, or small runs). The ST is a slant bed CNC lathe. Capable of mass production runs, has a hydraulic chuck, can fit a bar feeder to it, use a bar puller etc… higher spindle rpm and faster rapids.

@@DCT_Aaron_Engineering I can imagine it must have been a fairly mundane part to run. Nothing too exciting about cutting a bevel on a Pipe. 😴 The only exciting thing that could happen is If the part came out of the Chuck 😅👌
