Punderworld is also a wonderful H&P retelling with absolutely gorgeous art. Hades is a cinnamon roll and Persephone a firy and artistic young woman smothered by her mother. Touching, beautiful and often very funny. Zeus is-of course-an asshole. Highly, highly recommend.

Hades & Persophone are my fave. I devour almost every book anyone hints is a loose retelling. So many great recommendations here and a couple I hadn't heard of/realised were retellings/read yet (I immediately added them to my tbr).

I don't know if it's been added or commented by Eris Adderley's, The Eighth House: Hades and Persephone is well written and available on KU. She also has a retelling of Perseus and Medusa.

Learn My Lesson is not strictly necessary, but I think it's useful? (And is still my favourite of the Wicked Villains books). I cannot wait for Lore Olympus. 😍

Im a serial ACOTAR series reader but newer to the H&P trope. I never thought or heard of ACOMAF like that... Mind blow but totally agree!!

A deal with the Elf king is YA Hades and Peresephone retelling and is a sweet book. It's very young young adult. I love it. I loved A touch of darkness but the opening to book 2 destroyed all respect I hade for Peresephone and I don't think I can keep reading from her point of view. However A game of fate is the same book but Hades POV and I think it's better and his POV is coming out with a book 2 soon.. I'm excited. And my mind is blown that Court of mist a fury is a Hades and Peresephone retelling! Here I am trying to find more retellings because I'm so I'm love with them right now and I didn't know my favourite book is a retelling! Lol 😆

Read the first two books of touch of ruin. There is another Hades and Persephone series, its by Eliza Raine and Rose Wilson, its ok 🌸🥀 Going to checkout Lore of Olympus

Have you read the Hades book in the Court of the Underworld by Alessa Thorn? Not my favourite of the series, I preferred the Asterion book but it’s a Direct retelling in an urban setting

Why are almost all of them just "I wanna write a dark romance... let's just call it Hades and Persephone". I'm just trying to find a mythological retelling something like Circe and Song of Achilles

I guess the themes of the story of Hades & Persephone lend themselves towards themes/tropes that often occur in romance books, hence why romance writers use them. I'm a romance reader, so that's what I tend to read more of and I've yet to come across something along the lines of Circe or Song of Achilles, but that's not to say they're not out there.

Honestly, I have no idea. I just enjoy the whimsical artwork and a good Hades and Persephone retelling. Each to their own. 😊
