Hailan blithely points out that *Su Luyun actually outranks Jin Yuyan* since she was the *first to be bestowed Imperial Concubine (嬪) status upon Qianlong's ascension* (by virtue of giving birth to 3rd prince Yongzhang), as well as *having the most number of children* (at that point in time) (ranks from Imperial Concubine and above means you get your own palace in the harem, meaning more power and responsibilities due to more servants and lower-ranking concubines living with you) -Hailan then "suggests" to Su Luyun that *she bring 3rd prince at Qixianggong Palace* (where Qianlong was bound to be found) and *talk about child rearing and the maternal lifestyle* . Yonghuang then sees Jin Yuyan deep in "prayerful meditation", and while leaving feigns surprise at seeing Yonghuang. She then hems and haws about a secret that Yonghuang doesn't know, and after Yonghuang kept pressinga demurring Jin Yuyan, *"tearfully reveals" that Langhua "killed" Imperial Noble Consort Zhemin* (and with her the stillborn 2nd princess). A shocked Yonghuang then leaves Anhuadian Hall, and his subsequent "lackluster" mourning was his hatred towards Langhua (in the original novel *Jin Yuyan is the mastermind behind Imperial Noble Consort Zhemin's death* : she was a gourmand, and *Zhenshu secretly poisoned her food* which led to her early labor and death) -in the drama novelization (subsequent variant of the original novel): when Su Luyun awakens, she cries in shock at seeing 3rd prince Yongzhang's cloth doll (also way back Cold Palace arc, during 2nd prince Yong'lian (Crown Prince Duanhui)'s asthma storyline). Su Luyun then confronts Hailan (actually shown in the main trailer for the drama, but was entirely cut out of the drama), who had earlier promised to burn the doll in the aftermath of Crown Prince Duanhui's death (Hailan actually withheld and kept the cloth doll). Hailan rages at Su Luyun in return and asks why was she backstabbing Ruyi (during the mourning ceremonies) in her eagerness to become the next Empress Consort. Humbled, Su Luyun can only cry, with Hailan saying she should instead find out who schemed against her to such an extent

@@user-ix1rp9ff3p No. There’s two plots going on. Jin only scheme against the eldest prince. Hailan brought both eldest prince and Chun down by planting a seed in the Emperor’s head. Jin plans is only trying to get eldest prince out, not Chun. She definitely want Chun as a placeholder/ next Empress so Ruyi won’t get it. Chun is easier to manipulate whereas Ruyi is an ongoing enemy. Taking Chun out is not the best scenario for Jin, hence she only target the eldest prince.

No they are both wrong here. This occasion was for their official mother it wasn't about the Emperor he wanted everyone to mourn her death not worry about him. Neither of them had good intentions nor were they telling the truth. Yonghuang didn't mourn her because Consort Jia tricked him into believing the Empress killed his mother so he was upset with the Empress. Yongzhang didn't cry because Consort Chun told him not to after he told her what Hailan told Yongqi which was not to cry to support the Emperor basically. She tried to outsmart Hailan but in the end got outplayed. Yonghuang never had good intentions he just wanted to become Emperor one day even if it meant using Ruyi and Consort Chun.Yongzhang was always loyal to the Emperor but was easy to manipulate especially by Consort Chun. The Emperor shouldn't had went off like that but I do think he has a right to be angry with them.

His fear isn't that an 'heir' will replace him but what happened when his great grandfather was on the throne will happen again- Almost all of the sons got "Game of Thrones" fever and went at each other and almost caused a civil war. His Grandfather ended up disowning a ton of them, locking more up and basically rewrote the entire rules of succession to keep it from happening a second time. He's afraid that, as we all know is possible, someone's gonna do something stupid, throw the rules out the window and stir up more crap for China Game of Thrones pt 2

Quinlong really only has a slight 'reasonable excuse" for doing this - It's not shown here but later when Ruyi's trying to calm him down and get him to reverse his decision. Quinlong was still young, but he was still 'physically present' when a lot of his uncles attempted to usurp the throne for themselves and nearly caused a Civil War when his grandfather was about to retire. This is why, when they're talking about succession later, it's revealed that to keep this from happening you are only truly capable of being given the title of "Crown Prince" despite lineage by "Fulfilling the role as Guardian in service to the Dragon " ((basically you gotta run part of the government for a specific period of time and do a bunch of good shit to get there to prove you won't break something when given more power))

@Purple Heart honestly I feel like that's a bit unfair. Ruyi abandoned him first. When she got out of prison she thought about taking Yonghuang back, but then the emperor suggested that she might lose Chun as an ally. She was more concerned with maintaining an ally than taking care of the kid she promised to take care of. She probably thought he would be safe with Chun since Chun is normally so kind, but Ruyi was wrong. Chun only cared about using Yonghuang for his title as eldest son and propping up her own son over him. Leading to rivalry between the boys. So Yonghuang was neglected, and as a result cared mostly about gaining power. If Ruyi had taken care of him this might not have happened.

Юнчжан рассказал об этом матери и супруга Чун решила воспол зоваться советом Хайлан. Не знала лишь, что сама Хайлан сделала это специально, тот разговор с сыном. Хотела поставить супругу Чун, обидевшую ее сестру Руйи. Причем сама Руйи это поняла только постфактум и серьезно обиделась на нее потом.
