Haiti is under a state of emergency after the country's gangs freed thousands of people from the country's largest prisons and are reportedly uniting to bring down Haiti's de facto Prime Minister Ariel Henry, who has yet to return to the country since he traveled to Kenya last week to discuss a deal to bring a U.N. force of 1,000 Kenyan police to the island. "It is a desolation that we are feeling. It is a terror that we are living," says Haitian pro-democracy advocate Monique Clesca about escalating gang violence that has already displaced thousands of Haitians. "We have been terrorized for the last 30 months of Ariel Henry's government," she says, emphasizing "the Biden administration has its hands in the bloodshed." We are also joined by researcher Jake Johnston, who traces the relationship between U.S. intervention and Haiti's unrest, "a process stoked and perpetuated by the international community, and namely the United States." And we speak with Kenyan MP Otiende Amollo, who opposes the plan to send Kenyan "peacekeepers" to Haiti, calling it a move "that flies in the face of the rule of law."

You are absolutely correct. This is massively complicated due to haiti’s corrupt system. While I do believe the minister should go this would just create a huge power vacuum. It looks like the politicians have lost control of the gangs they have funded. If he leaves, the gangs might take over. They must control the gangs first and then change the political system.

@@lapilabrands1549 That is why I believe that they need to control the gangs before addressing the political issues. @@ralphlamy6842 Absolutely, I agree with you. Helping Haiti might require the support of other nations to deal with the armed gangs. It's a tough situation, and unfortunately, it might mean some lives lost in the process of bringing order to the country. But if we don't address this issue, Haiti could face even greater challenges, risking becoming a failed state. It's a difficult choice, but one that could make a real difference in the lives of the Haitian people.

So, I am Haitian, and like every Haitian, I don't like Ariel Henry. But let's be clear, Ariel Henry is not the problem of Haiti. Every time we have someone in a position of power, we always say they must go because they are the problem of the country. However, when they leave the government, the country becomes worse. I know we always need someone to blame, but I am tired of always blaming other countries or our government for our situation. Every Haitian is responsible. As long as we keep looking for someone to blame, we will remain in this situation.

Base on your name, I am assuming you’re African. If so, you understand how strong neocolonialism is… they have Arab businessman in Haiti who control all sectors, even the banking. These Arab businessmen import US products making a killing in Haiti and do not allow the diaspora community to come to Haiti to take a piece of the pie. Most importantly, they have deported drug dealers currently in the senate in Haiti and some have even become president. These individuals are compromised, so it make sense to have them in government power to do their bidding on keeping the country poor for their benefits. These two groups fund these armed gangs. It’s not easy for the haitian population to fight multiple forces trying to keep Haiti the way it is.

Haiti has always been and still is nothing but a threat to the peace and stability in the DR and the government there is building a border wall, militarizing the border and pressing on dislodging illegal migration from Haiti. Dominicans want nothing more than to push back the tide of Haitian misery in the form of millions of illegal border trespassers into the DR which feeds crime, depresses salaries and parasites social and government services that keeps poor Dominicans marginalized. Most of the flow of weapons into Haiti from the US enters freely through unmonitored coasts and airstrips just like drugs do from South America, when not disguised in plain sight and rushed through customs as when the notorious shipments consigned to some of the ubiquitous protestant congregations in Haiti. And stop drawing ignorant parallels between the resented, warped and reverse-racist views that prevail in Haiti onto Dominican society which has blended generations of immigrant people coming from Europe and the Middle East with success which is normal in all of Latin America except of course in Haiti. OK black revolutionaries are not *always* called gangs. We don't call them that in the congo. Ever observe how mad a kid gets if he feels his judgement is unfair compared to a sibling? Like if you did not forgive him for trying to kill the dog and you, but your other kid got in to your adult books, and you forgave that one. Satan is mad. He tried to usurp God and will forever be cut off from heaven or even speaking to God. We tried to attain the knowledge of God, but He died to absolve us of that because He loves us and we love Him back. The level and square are satan's symbols, which to him mean fairness. Satan takes up the causes of 'fairness' and 'freedom'. Fairness in his judgement, and freedom to not listen to God. Gangs are similar. They want the same judgement as someone who has never committed a crime before, and they want the freedom to not follow the laws.

Its really multifactorial For example Haitians voted against a candidate like De Joie and elected Papa Doc because of social manipulation. Playing the "race card".
