This series is a glimpse into my life in Haiti. I moved back to Haiti in 2017 after living in the US for 21 years. In this series, I take you along with me as I run errands, work, cook, hangout with friends & family, and much more.

you are such a big encouragement for me to move back. I love how you are not bias to what happening to the country and how real you are about everything. my biggest fear was that I would like the city better because of the stores and how close everything like i'm used to in the US. I look forward to your videos and enjoy watching them. thank you for sharing your experience. please keep sharing them !

Thanks for watching hun! If you live in the Petionville area you’ll have a very similar lifestyle to the States. That’s where I lived before moving to Okap. You’ll find literally everything there! Spas, luxury salons, all types of restaurants, supermarkets, etc. But once you leave the West Department, the other cities don’t have that vibe.

Luckily I’m a beach bum, I love the beach. So I wouldn’t mind a rural area closer to the beach with a slower lifestyle than in the states . 😊

When I returned from my trip to Cape Haitien with a friend few weeks ago, we saw on the plane to go back to the US more than 175 Haitians who were leaving to live in the US. I was so traumatized because for me I think that US is traping those haitians. They want to empty Haiti of their population to buy our land and buy our natural wealth. They create chaos and disorder to make us flee our country. to go work hard to build their country while they take their vacation in the most beautiful places in Haiti. It is time for the Djaspora to put value on the still few safe places in Haiti in order to create economic activities to encourage people to live in Haiti in good conditions. because otherwise we will lose our nation and in a few years we will all be divided.

At the rate people have children in this country I don’t ever see our population decreasing. It’s a controversial topic, but I really wish people were more accepting of family planning. I don’t understand why people have 5/6 kids but no money😢. Then the kids have a really hard life.

thank you for all your videos, you are part of the change that Haiti needs. I was in Haiti at the end of January and beginning of February with a friend. as a young Haitian born in Canada I found the city of Au cap to be a city with great tourist potential which could create a lot of work for the inhabitants and the young people.. also we absolutely need to help (we djaspora) the small cleaning companies in the city to solve this pollution problem!
@ruttyb

There are some companies trying to solve the waste issue, but I don’t think it’ll work unless they partner with the government. This is something that needs to be done on a large scale.

Hi Rutty, for this program, I decided not to talk about it again but I don't mind sharing my thoughts for your video. One thing to note, when you look at the sky-high tickets from Haiti to anywhere in the States for the last two years especially around the beginning of that program, and you add the cost for the work permit, the government benefited from those sponsors. This program created also so much division between family members as well. I have met and seen some Haitians sleeping in shelters once they arrived here. While I understand the sorrow and desperation of our people, I personally believe that overall, no matter what, I think just a slim minority of people can say that it worked well for them. Your video was fun to watch, keep them coming🙂

At a point in my life we were in Dominican Republic for about 2 years and we loved it there. Still thinking about going is just so much going on where it kind of puts a pause on everything? How was it looking for a job because that's my main concern? What VPN do you use for work? Because I know you have to have a certain type of internet or VPN to work. God bless you my sister and your family waiting on the next video.

If you want to lose weight you have to walk 🚶‍♂️ 15-30 a day , a good 🚶‍♂️, walk on the beach ⛱️ to the store with a cup of coffee don't set all day in front of the computer and this helps your brain to function correctly and gives you so much energy.....walking for life you would be surprised how many can't even walk for 10min like no energy or endurance.....but if course Jehovah provide the energy.

Sadly, every elected official who ran for mayor of Okap always ran under the pretense they would resolve the sanitary issue of the city. All politics just so they could get elected. The main reason I dislike all those platforms asking people to come to Okap. They should better use those platforms to renounce whoever is the mayor. @ruttyb
@ruttyb 4 ай бұрын
I don’t have a housekeeper. I had one for two weeks when we lived in Puits Blan. But the first case of C19 was revealed two weeks later and everyone stayed at home. We only hired her for cleaning & laundry, not to cook. She was supposed to come 3 times a week for half of a day. It’s normal here for the housekeeper to live with you. Almost every house we have lived in had a room designated for a housekeeper. But we used that space for something else. I just like to have freedom in my space. If we want to randomly do something no one needs to see or hear then we can. But when someone is in your space 24/7 it’s kinda awkward to me.
