scarves and hats do the trick for me. I keep everything basic, unless it is a color that looks fab on me! Also, I located and fell in love with a classic purse, and watched it for a while to see if it went on sale. Nope, so, took the dive at a RL handle purse and never regretted it. ((pssst, it NEVER went on sale and the price rose!)

I add a scarf around my neck to any outfit and it gives it a sense of a sophistication. Super easy and elegant.

I'm in the process of downsizing, which is not easy for a fashionista😀 I've treated myself with a stylist, so you get a fresh look on your wardrobe and many new combinations and ideas, so the rush to shop is getting down.

I read a book years ago called 'The Terrific Thirty' by Wendy Mak (it's since been rebranded 'The Capsule Wardrobe'). The author shows how you can have 1000 outfits with just 30 items. I've used this method successfully for many years. In addition, keep a 'Look Book' of pics of cute outfit combos as a reminder for when 'you've got nothing to wear'.

Time can also be money well spent. You can still find inspiration in something someone else wears, you just put YOUR twist on it, and now you have something unique that looks good on you. I think that chick, Alyssa Beltempo makes some good suggestions, if that helps out..... For my shoes, if I purchase a pair, I got rid of a pair or two. Most women would be shocked at the lack of shoes/clothes I own. lol

Fair question Linda! I personally find them the easiest wardrobe item to wear with any outfit (both casual and dressy) - so my little collection is a variety of fabrics that I rotate.
