This stuff can cause major health problems because all cans this old had lead seals and I have proven in my past videos that they have had over 500 ppm of lead and .12 can cause issues. Dry foods are a different story because they cannot leak lead into the food. This is some if the worst smelling things I have ever come across. Thanks for watching

I found the lid to a K ration can out in the forests of interior Alaska once, when I was part of a search team for a lost sensitive item during one of our Army training exercises. Must've been out there for decades. The lid, not me. We were out there for only about two weeks. Edit: apparently K rations are much older than I realized. They were used during WWII, and for a few years afterwards, but were discontinued as they were found to be nutritionally insufficient for the fighting soldier. That lid had been sitting out there for 70 years 😳

when I was on a us navy destroyer 1965 the cooks fed us powdered eggs from cans marked 1943 they would open the cans if they looked ok and use it on us.

I been doing my own can openings lately lol. I opened a can of mandarin oranges yesterday... expired 2013... can was swollen. When opened, there was a loud hiss! I was expecting rot, but no. It was corrosion and contents smelled like oranges and metal. Oranges looked ok other than that. I opened a can of kidney beans that expired 2015. They looked perfectly fine, but i discarded them and the oranges. I opened a can of Chef Boyardee Ravioli, expired august 2017... looked perfectly fine just settled some. No corrosion. I ate it lol. I'm not dead yet lol. I opened a can of cherry pie filling, expired 2017... they tasted ok but loss of texture. Can was white enameled lined. Only one or two real small spots where enamel was either damaged or wore off. I ate them anyway, I'm fine. I opened a can of chicken soup 2 weeks ago, large 24 oz can. I did not shake it before opening so i could check the conditions on top... it was molded... yuck. Soup smelled off and noodles were clumped. Man this is a cool hobby lol. I need to make some vids like yours. If i ever do, I'll share the link. 😎
