Michael was shot a total of 13 times on Halloween of 78. 11 times by Loomis over the first 2 movies, and then twice by Laurie in the second

fun fact the original draft to H2O had a scene where Laurie in her incognito teacher persona sees one of her students reading a report on michael myers that mentions Jamie's death. After which she goes to the bathroom and throws up. kinda wish they kept that in it would have made the movie less shit

I've read that the yellowing of the mask between Halloween 1 and 2 was because Debra Hill took it home with her after filming wrapped on the original. She kept it under her bed and was a fairly heavy smoker. I have a difficult time believing it as well, but by all accounts that I'm aware of,it actually IS the original mask. Also, you see in one of Loomis' files in this film that Michael's middle initial is M. But his ORIGINAL middle name.....and I'm not joking.....is Audrey. True story!

Yeah. I think he misconstrued what the guy in the video (Barry, aka Wolfman’s Got Nards) was saying. He was saying the mask from 2 is the same one from the original, not that this movie’s mask was. Don’t know how he misunderstood that... But YES, I was going to make the same comment, then I saw yours- then I was going to add the anecdote about it having been under Debra Hill’s bed as well, buuuuut, yeah... Good catch y’all

The full truth about the original mask being used for H2 may never be known. The story about Debra Hill keeping the mask under the bed may, infact, be true. Its definitely ONE of the masks used in the original. The damage seen in the mask in H2 certainly matches up with what is visible on the mask from the original. But there's also Nick Castle's version of events. His story goes that they tried recreating the original mask for H2 and couldn't do it. He had kept one of the original masks above his fireplace for 3 years. Debra Hill came asking if they could borrow it to shoot the sequel, with the understanding he would get it back after filming. He gave it to her and never got it back. One theory is that his mask is the one they burned. Pretty shitty, if true. The other theory is that someone gave it to Dick Warlock, not realizing it was Nick's mask. Also, shitty, if true. Then there is the question of why would Hill have gone to Nick for his mask if they already had one? The one from under her bed? They needed a Stunt mask? Possibly. And why did they try and fail to create a new one if they had Debra's mask? They couldn't use that as a template and repaint another Shatner mask to look similar enough? Or get the creator of the original, Tommy Lee Wallace, to paint one? And why the hell did no one care to return Castle's mask? Or at least provide some explanation to him, like "Hey, sorry, we used yours as our stunt mask and fuckin' burned it." Then there is the pic of JLC in her kitchen, taken after Halloween was filmed, wearing one of the original masks. There is also the SNL episode she did which clearly featured someone wearing an original Shape mask. At least 3 masks were made for the original movie yet only one is known to still be in existence. Even if they burned one, (which is ridiculous, they could have easily used a knockoff mask for that scene, since it was on fire) where is the other one? With Debra Hill gone and only one mask known to be around, we might never get the full story.

8:10 Michael DID get shot 6 times, however the opening to Halloween 2 was edited in a weird way and we hear 7 shots go off, but canonically he was shot 6 times. He was shot 3 more times later that night.

He was shot more than 3 more. Loomis shot him 5 more times, then Laurie shot him an additional 2 times. He took a total of 13 bullets that night

The only logical explanation I've ever heard for their being 7 shots is that one of the shots is simply replayed again from the alternate perspective. Doesnt really make much sense to me though. I think it was a simple screw up with the sound department that somehow no one noticed. Never would have happened had they not re-shot the ending of the original. It was all unnecessary and created several inconsistencies.

Tommy Doyle's brief cameo has him as a typical 80's teenager but in H6 he's this messed up socially awkward adult whose been obsessing over Michael for years.

Finally, someone agrees with me about the ending of this movie! I mean, say what you will about the rest of the film (athough I enjoyed it well enough), but oh man that ending... I *still* remember the first time I watched this movie and the chills that ran down my back when *not* a still-alive Michael appears at the top of the stairs but Jamie, a bloody knife in hand, and the almost heartbreaking way Loomis screams over and over as if his mind is snapping in two. It's the sound of a man who thought the endless nightmare was finally over only to find that true evil never really dies but is only passed down, and it's just fantastic. I've watched a lot of horror movies and have gotten freaked out, startled, grossed out, disturbed, uncomfortable... but I've never experienced genuine chills like that before or since, like someone shot a needle full of ice water into my veins. I wish they would have simply stopped the sequel train with this movie because it would have been a perfect ending, leaving audiences with that haunting image of little Jamie and the implication that she'll carry on in her dead uncle's footsteps.

4 is actually my favorite Halloween movie. It has some issues such as characters introduced just to disappear and never be seen again when really they should have been more canon fodder for Michael. The awful mask etc but in general it's really entertaining and I love Loomis in it! Shame they pissed away the ending when they made the awful part 5.

Man, this movie, holds a special place in my heart. Always will, because, to my memory, its the first one I saw when I was about 6 or 7. I remember it well. It was on some digital cable channel that I believe was horror based (this was back in 01 ish in the US if anyone has an idea what it would be) that I can't remember the name of. They had a marathon of Halloween 3, 4, and 5. I knew of Halloween because I remember thinking "this isn't Halloween, where is Michael Myers?" while watching Season of the Witch. Still like the movie to this day, it has its flaws, but when I think about watching Halloween, I think of this one. The atmosphere always worked for me, it feels like midwestern fall and is done pretty damn well I think.

Actually, it’s the exact same 1975 Kirk that was used for the first two movies. It was just significantly worn after sitting atop Nick Castle’s fireplace mantle for 3 years. Secondly, the mask in H4 is NOT supposed to be the same mask that Michael originally had. That mask would have burned up in the fire, which is why he steals the mask from Vincent Drug to replace it.

The reason why the people sell the costume is pretty simple, the people want to pay respect to the victims of Mike Myers, by making money off their name, it’s very noble thing to do.

Michael is basically supernatural in this film. Hes actually pure evil, a spawn of the devil so to speak. Even though it's not mentioned I just assume he has the cult of Thorne. Which describes how he "walks faster than he runs" and how he isn't blind and can take all type of damage. My continuity is the first 6 movies (Jamie isn't Jamie to me in H6), then Halloween 2007 (This is Jamie lol) and Halloween 2018.

This was essentially a "remake" of the first film, but with a character who's actor wouldn't abandon the series. There really was no other option. It was established in H2 that his motive was to kill his sister. Without Curtis, he has no motive. They couldn't just invent a new sister we didn't know about. Laurie having a daughter is the only believable option. But they go and screw all of it up with the 5th.

Pretty sure the gun the cop is holding at the end is just some kind of combat variant double-barrel shotgun. Sometimes the barrels are placed vertically rather than horizontally. It's a real gun.

To be fair he did grab a new mask from the store and some time has passed and like any company selling products they frequently change it, so other then using the same mask in the dream sequences because obviously they wouldn't make a entire different mask for those scenes but maybe jamie didn't know what the mask looked like in the first two movies unless she happened to have a snapped photo of him taken by someone in the first or second movie seeing as the mask would of got completely burned to nothing by the time the fire would of been put out so I doubt any photos or footage taken by someone within that time ever happened.

Because one of the producers said that it was supposed to be Tommy and the Lindsay girl is supposed to be Lindsay from the first but the scenes were changed or something. So technically it’s unclear if it’s supposed to be Tommy or not.
