Those are great, I have in the back of my head to make some round nose pliers for my lady for jewellery making but my list of tools needed is long and incomprehensible...and usually forgotten as soon as I light the forge.......... I wish I could get flap wheels for my grinder here you have access to some really cool stuff in the city , I'm especially impressed by the amount of different steels you can get and having an accessible machinist.

@Joe___R
@Joe___R Жыл бұрын
Splaing out the handles would be a good improvement for those. There is a reason you almost never see straight handles on pliers, they are less comfortable and with the closing position so close to each other it decreases the amount of pressure you can use to close them.
@gstongs
@gstongs Жыл бұрын
My original design (on paper) did have a decent amount of curve / splay in the handles. But things don't always go according to plan for me. I see where I can make improvements and do my best next go round. Thanks for watching.

Hey Glenn! Great job. So many things to see here. Watch count exceed the like capabilities! 😂 So you mentioned drawing out the handles/reins. Just a thought. Fullering dies on the little guillotine tool??? Yup makes ridges but those get smooth by Ye Old Clobereinhitzen! Similar to drawing out over the edge of the anvil with a crosspein Clobereinhitzen! 😂 I see that smile over here in Texas! Blessings brother Crawford out 🙏🏻🔥⚒️🧙🏼‍♂️
@gstongs
@gstongs Жыл бұрын
Yes, my fullering dies would certainly work for drawing a little faster. I also have a couple of simple hardy hole bottom fullers and I recently completed a cross peen hammer for myself and I'll show / use those soon. Anyway, your suggestions are sound advice. Just need them to sink into my brain when I'm actually working. Thanks Crawford.

Won't the oxalic acid eventually corrode through your metal storage can?
@gstongs

Someone else asked the same. It's not very powerful (acidic) and so it would likely take a very long time. However using glass or plastic is probably better. Thanks.
