Hand Pouring 4 inch Swimbaits - Easy Recipe for Natural Colored Baitfish

After experimenting with new colors from DipYourCar and new plastisol from Calhoun, I think I finally have a solid and easily achievable recipe to make some natural colored swimbaits that are 100% guaranteed to catch fish. These 4-inch swimbaits from Angling AI are the perfect size to target a variety of species including, Smallmouth, Largemouth, Saugeye, and Walleye.

I really appreciate the kind words. If you're looking for cheaper and better swimbaits, I'd check out big Josh swimbaits. Great action, durable, and good colors. I'm going to get more after work because I don't have any molds that have the action if a Big Joshy.

dig it man! will the technique work for remelt? I'm no bait maker but Ive been saving all my old plastics for a while now, got about a gallons worth. I gotta figure out something to do with it.

Thanks so much! It would work fine with remelt. Just gotta make sure the blend of the remelt will work with whatever youre making. Eg: dont melt down a ton of thick crawdads and try to use it to make swimbaits or worms. The action of the baits wont turn out too good. But if you mixed have craws and half worms you could get a medium blend which worms great for swimbaits.

Glad ya like them! I usually pour it around 330 degrees.

@@River_Savage Thank you friend. That is the temperature of the heat plate where the molds are, right? I mean that. And how long do you leave it at that temperature and then cool it?

@javojavato ahhh. That hit plate is set around 300 degrees. I pour the tope layer and let it sit for about 20 min between 250 and 300. Then I set it to the lowest temp for another 20 min. Then I let it cool down and remove the baits. Hope that helps.

I don't really sell any open pour swimbaits because they take so long to make its usually out of most people's price range. If I did sell they'd be around 20 bucks for 10 plus shipping. If I had 10 molds vs 5 the cost would be cheaper but those molds are kinda pricey. Let me know if you're still interested though.
