Hello and welcome to Badger Workshop. I wanted to make some gifts for the children in the family so I made a couple of handmade money boxes.

These are really sweet Matt. Very unusual grain for white oak but it looks awesome. Sure the kids will love 'em.

Brilliant gift idea. Thanks. A bit pricier, but you could fill them with those ‘chocolate money’ coins and watch the kids as they try to work out if they’re happy it’s chocolate or disappointed that it’s not real money.

Lovely looking boxes, they’ll be thrilled! I’ll admit that trimming down the top, bottom and splines on the band saw looked risky, but I can’t think of another way to do it...

Nice job. I’m really curious how that table saw is shaping up and how long it lasts in your shop (given your table saw commitment-phobia for saws!!!) because the whine of an induction motor sounds much less awful than the SCREAM of my DeWalt 745. Looking forward to seeing a later review when you do one. Cheers

Do you have any tips on cutting accurately to length when cutting mitres/bevels on the table saw? I can see that if you use stop blocks you don’t need to measure to cut consistently, but struggling to work out how to cut to a precise outer or inner surface length!

I cut the first mitre then mark out where i want the second cut. I then line the mark up to the blade and set a stop block.
