Yes, Yuzuru is a graceful skater! :) He reminds me of a dancer. You then realize he is doing all of these amazing dance elements wearing ice skates and performing them on ice. Yuzuru Hanyu is amazing, talented, beautiful and such a joy to watch!

Hanyu has the best jumping skills, I'd say ... ever .. sincerely. We're talking about the guy that can make a 3A, 3S and other triples out of a stand still and lands effortless 4T-3A-3A sequences. It's just that 4S that he had problems with during the whole season, more of a mental block though because he can lands it anywhere EXCEPT competitions (only at Finlandia and Worlds 2014). The quality of his jumps when he's on is just insane. I'd like him to be less focused on jumps though, even if it's still strong point. I want him to become a more complete skater. For me he actually falters at the interpretation for his FPs (This performance and the Worlds 2014 are exceptions) especially because the program layout just doesn't allow him too; and he still needs to grow up in artistry. At this program the emotion come more from his fighting spirit than for the interpretation itself. His SP is far superior. He needs to get better choreos that can balance artistry and technique and delivers it. He can learn, he's still so young, I worry for how long his body will be able to carry this level of 'tech' in skating though ..

You got it right! He has improved his jumps in competition AND FPs, as well as gotten better choreos!

@@squirrel7303 You are right. He's pushing 27 this year and still getting better and better each passing years. Already achieved a SUPER SLAM & 2 OGM. Truly a GOAT and a LEGEND in figure skating history. Despite the injuries/falling sick during almost every season, he's still skating like he was still his goddamn 17 year old self. So full of energy, passion, determination and power. The fact that he is still competing and with younger skaters at that is just so amazing and mindblowing. He might take a lose here and there but that is only normal because he had also been there and done that before when he was young; it's a cycle. He will always be a champion in everyone's heart. He doesn't have nothing to prove anymore.

Most of his performance, he always fell. That's why you feel like he did it on purpose. But actually he always (accidently) fell and he's used to it and deal with it like it's normal thing. The fell no longer taunted him =)

Yuzuru had all of his jumps down before going to Orser, he didn't learn the technique with him, whach some 2011, performances of him. He went to Orser some months after he won a bronze medal at worlds, he was 17 years old. What Orser and his team did was 'refine' him to some extent, better his endurance through the program, skating skills etc. It's still not ideal, but he's still improving. I don't think that any of those elements, the way he jumps or whatever have something to do with Yuna. he has always had a natural talent for jumping. Honestly, I think Orser won a golden ticket when he was choosed to coach Yuzuru, everyone could see that Yuzuru had the talent to go far and were expecting a olympic medal for him someday, especially because of his natural jumping ability.

That jump was the quadruple salchow, which at the point was the jump that Yuzuru could not seem to conquer. He fell by accident, but yes he recovered quickly and with grace, so I understand that it's hard to tell. Looking back at this performance really brings so many emotions to me, seeing how that quad sal, once off-axis and constantly falling, to now, in the era where his salchow is the best out there. In fact, all his jumps are the best out there today. Congratulations, Yuzuru, for all that you have done and are trying to do to improve your sport.

Yes, in Finlandia Trophy 2013. The thing is he is landing quad sal as easy as quad toe on practices, but something is blocking him with that in competition :D B Orser even suggested to change it for 4T3T combo which he can do pretty easy, but he wants that quad sal... : ) ps. He is even practicing quad axel...... and he almost got full rotation o_o

Dominatorwasi 4T3T would yield him more points as well... 4S only yields 0.2 more base than 4T, maybe changing it to something else for a while would be good for confidence. I'd love to see a quad axel :O

***** The thing is if he will change 4S for 4T3T then he can't do 3T in combination with 3A. But he is trying also other quads beyond toe, salchow and axel. As I remember he said in interview he wants to have 3 diffrent ( ! ) quads in program next season : )
