Short answer on playing the same save file for a long time: yeah you get op. Not just from the stats but also you just know everything about everyone already. I played on the biggest city and played until retirement. My last few cases, I'd scan the crime scene for fingerprints, and already have the killer's ID.

true, i mostly start a new save after 10-15 cases to keep the game fresh and challenging

@@thej6472 I stole what I do from a KZfaqr. Generate a new city on max difficulty (including stuff like 0 starting money and 0 starting lockpicks) solve the first case, then delete that city and start a new one fresh.

I get the idea of difficulty and making it interesting for yourself but i don't think I'd be able to survive that-I just make a massive city and have fun filling out all the information from anyone I can.

My home has exterior doors that require keys from either side. A burglar once got themselves stuck trying to escape our front door before having to book it across to the window they broke in from when they couldn't figure out the door. Kinda funny. Mostly infuriating. Point is: internally keyed doors exist and have... Funny benefits?

I played this game and after a bit, I just figured out how to get a lot of money quickly, so I just started putting bloodhound trackers on everyone I could, until my map became a mess of characters that I could always track

i wonder if since arresting a criminal just makes the npc not exist, could you have only one (or none at all) npcs left in the world?
