- sharp fret ends rolled off
- action lowered, still open to check for high frets and intonation
- strap button pressed into body due to bump from transport
- metal cover bridge pickup removed for better playability
- thumbrest on neck pickup (not original) removed, holes covered with white tape
Harley Benton RB 414 BK Classic
Sound impression is quite good, really like the mini humbucker sound in neck and also the sound with tone on low level.
Note! I m not used to play bass ;-) I just like Motörhead and Lemmy bass guitar look and sound.

For me it was the opposite, I was thinking the sunburst would look better for stoner rock playing :-)

Sounds great for this sort of tone. I played one with flats and I think I prefer it to an actual Ric. Sacrilegious, but true.

True, not looking too much to the brand, what matters is the manufactured quality, playability, sound and feel :-)

Considering getting one of these and modding it without going into bankruptcy or feeling guilty butchering a real Ric. I think I prefer the HB body style to the original, I like the symmetry.

Lemme Motorhead sounds sans the Rickenbacker overhead. Might try one.

The style is just for the look, think more important is to play with distortion then clean for the tone :-). Rickenbacker fretboard inlays looking fantastic, no question.

I bought the same exact one you got and I received it yesterday in the mail. I have a question. Will Rickenbacker pick ups fit? Because I'm planning modding it with Rickenbacker Pickups.

Might be, just write an mail to T customer service or give them a call. For me it looks like standard single coile size in bridge and mini humbucker on neck. My recommendation, first play a while with the stock pickups before changing to Rickenbacker and try to not think about branding :) Just think they are as close as possible... often the big difference is just in our mind.

The bridge will fit, the neck will need work. There's a video on KZfaq with a guy replacing the pups with Ric pups

you need more practice, if you're gonna do lemmy's style, he did much more than what you're doing, give "You better Run" a play on this thing

@@fritzsguitars It would be helpful if you played up and down the neck a bit, though. Just a thought for future demos. Good stuff, though.
