@jonnymac8925
@jonnymac8925 3 жыл бұрын
The Vrod handled like shit and was ugly as sin. I know lots of Harley riders that would like a fast, well handling and braking Harley. They were going to make the Bronx but of course, like Buell, they kill off anything that people might actually want lol
@factoryrider9537
@factoryrider9537 3 жыл бұрын
@@jonnymac8925 every Harley handles like an unergonomical bucket of rocks, the vrod was the best handling Harley ever made ever. And it actually was powerful/accelerated fast-ish unlike any Harley ever. Also Harleys are all rather ugly to be fair. The only Harley that would be kinda cool would be the new streetfighter if they actually pull it off without going bankrupt. I mean Harley is literally just a status symbol. In my mechanic life I had too ride too many of them to like any of them unfortunately
@jonnymac8925
@jonnymac8925 3 жыл бұрын
@@factoryrider9537 lol the vrod was not the best handling Harley, the FXR and XR1200 take that. The vrod has no lean angle and it sits too low and has horrible ergonomics for twisties. I also told you, they already killed off the Bronx, the Bronx was the Streetfighter. They are however still making the 1250 custom which will have the same 145hp liquid cooled vtwin that the Pan America will have (similar motors to the Vrods, these are the Revolution X models, the Vrod being the revolution). There is also a new liquid cooled vvt Sportster in the making since they don't pass emissions in most countries now. The best handling Harley is the XR1200, and almost any Sportster could outhandle the Vrod. Yes, they were quick in a straight line, but that's about it. Also, 99.9% of people like the customization options for Harleys,there are lots of Baggers, Dynas, Sportsters with some sweet suspension and brake setups.

your kind of right i thought they were pretty expensive but it seems to only be the big twins that are really expensive went into the Harley shop to get oil and looked over a 2019 sportster 883 with about 5 delivery miles and sticker price was only 8k, and to me that does not seem to bad. however when i looked at the big twins i was like holy s**t. but to say all of them are the price of a car is inaccurate. the 1200 was just under 10k as well. i have no desire to buy a big twin as they are way to heavy for me. i own a 74 sportster 1000 xlch that has had a lot of motor work. bike weighs about 370lbs without me on it.

YES! I have a classic Goldwing, I'm turning into a cafe-racer. The modern ones are not really for me. They're too heavy. I prefer more sporty Sport-touring bikes, like the VFR800. But modern Goldwings are nice, especially the recent generation.

@@giorap2625 Marlon Brando and Steve McQueen were riding Triumphs. Honda and Suzuki were building indestructible engines in the 70s that are looking like they'll make it to their 50th birthdays (mine are about to hit 40). Those bikes are beautiful in their mechanical simplicity. None of the American brands seem to be making the entry level motorcycles at an affordable price point to bring in new riders. You can't tell most of the story of American motorcycles without foreign brands. I'm all in favor of hyping the American brands, but most of them don't return the patriotism that I want to see to be an enthusiast on that basis. Even if they do, they don't have the market share that would make their biography relevant.

They missed some cool and uncool shit from H-D's history: · They once bought an Italian company for like 4 years. The Italians knew how to do MotoGp-style bikes so H-D gave them money and ended up becoming effectively a two-time 250GP champion. · Many years later, mainly due to Erik Buell, H-D tried to make a pure sportbike out of their XR750. The result? The more than questionable VR1000. It never won an AMA Superbike race. · Erik Buell ended up making its own company (Buell), making sports and naked bikes with H-D engines, it failed but had some cool-looking bikes. · H-D used to have a single-brand cup as a sideshow to AMA Superbike with their XR1200 muscle bike. They delivered some nice racing.

I like the way that Honda opened their Goldwing factory in the USA to beat the import tariffs as , for a very long time, that's where they were all made. Hardly Davidson has become the clothing company that makes motorcycles. Hardly Davidson the only company where you buy a motorcycle then spend just a much ,if not more, to get it to go properly. Also Marlon Brando rode a Triumph in that movie.

They missed some cool and uncool shit from H-D's history: · They once bought an Italian company for like 4 years. The Italians knew how to do MotoGp-style bikes so H-D gave them money and ended up becoming effectively a two-time 250GP champion. Only American company to ever do that. I'm not a H-D fan, I don't like the brand and 90% of its products, and I still know some important stuff they didn't mention. Also, they never mentioned the XR1200 muscle bike, which is the most "normal" bike from them.

Harley Davidson, the only motorcycle company who builds a modern bike with a liquid cooled engine and high HP numbers to appeal to “younger” riders and then prices it at 15-20k!!! Which immediately gets a 2-3k markup at the stealership! Great Harley! You built a motorcycle that young guys would love to have!
