Those replacement kits are nice. I'm using one myself. I haven't seen anybody else show replacing those parts.

Yes, these new kits are very nice. I made this video for people who where wondering how to attach the stock fork boots to their bikes and didn’t realize there was a boot retainer involved. I hope you tune in again, I have more iron head content coming! I definitely would appreciate if you like and subscribe as well. It’s good to see you are keeping another vintage bike on the road!

Those boots can still be purchased from Harley. Amazing, more than a half century after the last time they were used on these bikes. And they are Harley factory parts in factory packaging made in the USA. And they are expensive! About $120 a pair. They can be had a lot cheaper from ebay or Custom Chrome or JP Cycle.....but don't do it, they will not last.

Yes, you are right. I actually bought a pair last year and they are not cheap! The key is to use a product like VLR to keep the rubber from deteriorating. I treat both the aftermarket copies and the original boots with VLR every month with great results! No more deteriorating. I did a short video on it but it didn’t get much attention. But I’m sure you get it and understand the issues with rubber gators, especially the cheaper aftermarket ones. I appreciate all your comments and look forward for more of your feedback.
