In the last part, however, instead of going with the usual flow of the admission process, the writer hinted that he would bypass all that and go straight to the campus. That is why it seemed like desperation to me. Had he written something like “I look forward to receiving a letter of admission from you soon” it will be more inline with the established tone of his letter. Btw, it would be funny if he really did just go to the campus in August, only to be replied with “Sorry Sir, your name is not on the list” 😅
