In this video we harvest Spicebush twigs and process them up to make some tea. I also explain some rules of thumb for harvesting the twigs, leaves, etc. The tea that's made though light in color, is strongly aromatic and extremely delicious. It's ease of harvesting and preparation makes it ideal for foraging and cooking.
Spicebush has many edible parts like; Leaves, twigs, bark, and berries. Some of it's uses other than teas include; Allspice substitute for baking, syrups, sodas, dessert sauces, ice creams, and more. The plant also contains medical properties and is good for colds, flus, Anemia, Rheumatism, Gout, and to expel Worms.
Before harvesting any plant, and especially before eating it, you should know how to positively identify it.
