As a landscape photographer I love this camera. Sure, it's a bit quirky but so is a Ferrari. My images blow just about anything else out of the water and having the best image quality is really what it's all about. If you can't afford one, don't knock the people that can. If you don't like it, don't knock the people that do. There are a lot of things I don't like but at least I have the good sense to keep my mouth shut and not rattle on just to hear myself talk. Great video for anyone that likes this Hasselblad. Even if there are only two of us.

Honestly I found it useful. I just got one secondhand and just breezed through the menus assuming I had it set to my liking. There were a few settings I completely missed that were covered in this video and now the camera is set up properly to my shooting style. Realistically they’re quite “affordable” now that the X1D II is on the market.

The autofocus is not slow. It just works differently than your Sony. Regarding flat jpgs. Most pros shoot flat especially in studio. We want a solid image right out of the camera for processing. The images are not flat, they have the beautiful Hasselblad look by default. If you are importing your images into Phocus software, you get some options for color profiles like LR & C1. Hasselblad is designed to do things very well without lots of gizmos. You can successfully shoot wonderful photos handheld. A tripod is usually a better choice because if you own this camera, you are probably shooting in studio or on location for a landscape, etc. Thanks for the review! Cheers.

Just found this. Thanks! Used (original) X1D-50C are down to $2,600 on B&H, and with the new pancake lens (35mm full-frame equivalent focal length) it is finally in the price range of a medium Sony setup. The images are as amazing as they ever were.

It seems to be a great camera! :) Is it best for landscapes and still images? I have just a Canon EOS R and at the autofocus selection the eye detection is very useful. Did this Hasselblad camera compensate it somehow? I have seen many other Hasselblad KZfaq videos on this camera and the taken photos were really beautiful!! Are those photos free of editing? Sorry if I was a bit too curious ...

It might be but both are not really medium format most say it starts at 645, these 2 are nowhere near that sensor size. It's not much bigger than 35mm not really smaller, than the jump from APS-C to 35mm hence most people are best off going 35mm, far cheaper, loads more lenses/accessories. It might make sense for Fuji as they are APS-C no 35mm (as of yet), I think they'd do a lot better with 35mm myself over the GFX. Run 35mm and APS-C systems together

@theboss069
@theboss069 6 жыл бұрын
I would not buy this camera even if I had the money due to: Slow user interface, 1/2000s shutter speed limit, weird bokeh, slow lenses, lack of buttons for blind use including custom buttons, dynamic range not better than full frame cameras, limited video capabilities such as no 4K, no slo-mo, no steady shot, which is also bad for hand holding, because It will probably result in shaky images if you shoot slower than I guess 1/800s (50 MP remember). Though I like the design of the camera, I can't imagine who would seriously consider buying this. I'd rather buy a D850 or Sony A7R III with good Zeiss prime lenses. I don't get why they put a leaf shutter in there. It makes 3rd party lenses difficult to manufacture, makes even the native lenses more expensive and adapting 3rd party lenses is impossible, limits the shutter speed, results in strange bokeh. I switched many cameras and improved my way from smartphone to 1 inch, to APS-C, now full frame but with the medium format that Hasselblad is giving I can't imagine even considering to upgrade some time in the future. It could have been so much better.
@telemaq76
@telemaq76 5 жыл бұрын
The goal of this camera is to have a medium format with leaf shutter. It s not the problem, it a the advantage, people who want a hasselblad don't care of 4k, vloging, eye tracker...they just want a medium format with leaf shutter. And no, dynamic range is not the same than a ff.

Yeah, don't watch this if you don't have the camera. We've made tutorials for more than 50 cameras, and each one only applies to the small minority of people who own that specific model. I agree this is going to be the least popular camera in our lineup, but it'll help some people and it's not at all hard for us to make. When we do a camera review, we study every minor feature of the camera anyway, so recording a tutorial is usually a piece-of-cake. We have an outside editor cut it together, so it doesn't take any extra resources.
