I own an X1DII and I love it. I loved your final thoughts, introspective, as they were the same when I decided to buy it! And now I follow you for this!!!...:)...P.s.: on the market there is the X2D and so...we can come back and consider the same about this new camera...:) Regards from Italy...

Hey Chicco, great to hear you liked the video and even more happy to hear you're a real user of the X1DII and love the camera. How long have you used your camera if you don't mind me asking? Any observations you can give over your long term use? Issues/strongpoints/ect? And I'm actually considering reaching out to my contact at Hasselblad to see about obtaining a review sample of the X2D just to see how it might compare to the first gen model. Thanks a lot for the follow btw!

@@AdamWelch Thanks for your attention Adam. I am using the X1dII since last June, with a 45p and a 21mm lens. I love the camera but I think there are a lot of issues that are solved (I think not all) with new X2D (focus, tilting screen, stabilization...). I own others system for run&gun (sony a 7r3; sony a7sIII) but I love my Hasselblad colors and, even if cropped, medium format...Hope to hear from you about testing the X2D...Now I can't buy it but I think it is my next step...Thanks for all...Regards from Italy...(p.s.: a lens you suggest me beyond the 45p and 21...I think 90mm or what?...Hugs...

yes, @ 36:48 the Hasselblad Phocus software is needed for the mask, it is in effect a layer using a Photoshop term, BUT in Photoshop, this 'layer' in the file is ignored, and the whole file used for the image, Phocus is the only software ( that I am presently familiar with) which accepts this data for image creation. (for interest, the 907x has the same mode, and caveat , that crop only works in Phocus as well).

What do you think about the new 907x. I’m on the fence between that and the x1dii. The only thing tripping me up is the lack of hot shoe 907x. A leaf shutter lens camera without a hot shoe is just so annoying.

@@DavidAlekhuogie I am fascinated by the beauty and originality of the 907x concept, but I think I will be more happy with the X1D, more manageable and practical on a daily basis.

Likewise, David. The 907x was just such a unique concept that I really wanted to get my hands on one. Sadly, I've not heard back from my rep at Hasselblad in some time. I was placed on the wait list for a review sample around the same time I received the X1D II for review. We shall see!

This camera is tempting x1dii with 45mm for 4100. This is the current price. There is also another 28mm that just came out for 1600 too. Amazing. Those larger MM lenses are spendy though

Good review but not one person has showed the EVF blackout and buffer on a video!

I didn't experience any EVF issues at all while using the X1D II. As for the video buffering, I know there are specific memory cards that aren't recommended. Do you own this camera? I'd be interested to know your thoughts.

@@AdamWelch Hi, actually no I don't. All I have read about is he problems and can't find anything that shows them, good to hear you haven't had any. I want to buy the camera but am quite unsure with the mixed reviews. i was hoping someone would make a video of the a continuous burst to show buffer and also video the back of the screen to show the EVF black out between a decent burst of shots. I really enjoyed your review though!

@@duodua4130 Glad you like the review but no, I didn't experience the issues you reference. I did run into some problems with the first generation of the X1D (mainly freezes). I want to opine on the continuous shooting mode, the X1D II only sports a 2.7fps burst so really, if you're looking for a high fps camera for continuous shooting, this is likely not for you. As you show in the video the LV screen while taking focus stacked images, you have a nice impression of the real blackout of the x1DII. Many people that don't really now the X1D exagerate the blackout just because it is some 1/10s longer that on a Fuji GFX50. When using the X1D it doesn't bother me at all.

@@AdamWelch Oh I think it's only a matter of time,I bought the Canon R5 thinking it was going to be the holy grail of all cameras but I was so disappointed I took it straight back to the store,then a colleague sent me some RAW files from the original X1D & I was blown away,trouble now is I happen to still own my hasselblad film cameras with an assorted number of lenses and the 907x has come into the equation. Can't seem to meke my mind up between the two.
