Loved watching your videos! I have eggs currently in the wiggler stage almost ready to free swim! I wasn't trying to breed but now that I know I have a pair and wigglers I'm super excited to learn as much as I can! Your videos give such great information! I'm sure glad I stumbled upon it!

I am loving your videos. I'm already thanks to you planning to set up a rack of 20 tall tanks and some 40-gallon breeders to start to possibly keep and if I'm lucky breed angelfish. Thank's Mike.

The biggest difference is the jar. It transformed how I hatch and made things a lot easier! My son picked these jamas for me for Christmas. Lol good taste that boy has. Lol. I need to catch up on watching some vids. I'll def be by your channel later.

if you dry a piece of liver until you can grate it on a nutmeg grater the dust fed to newly hatch young is fantastic.

Hi , I am verifying this videos tutorial works!! however on part 4 I did not setup the frying rearing jar, I just proceed with the same jar in part 1 to 3, following the exact steps. It works!! Don't use methylene blue, use hydrogen peroxide. And I use a Boston Round Yorker Dropper Bottle to blow off the eggs and collect unfertilised eggs. After 12 spawn, this is my success. Thanks to you Mike!!
Very nice! Thanks for the review! I'm glad this worked well for you. Are they Angels that you are hatching?

I have questions how or where you put the airline hose into the jar glass ? did you drill a hole in the tube ? just I dont understand where you put exactly the airline

I love love love these filtered jars! Where do you get your sponges and is there a video of how you build these??
@MikesFishRoom18 жыл бұрын
The only place I could find is angelsplus.com. They are great! In this video I go over how to set them up.
@Sapcomm4 жыл бұрын
Mike, are you still actively watching this board. My Angle lay eggs every two weeks. I have been trying to save the eggs and raise them. I get 3 weeks usually until the die. I just got the same sponge filter and gladd jars from an angelfish site online. I am praying this time things go better for me. I was trying to see if I could find a Facebook page for you. It might be a good crossover for you. Thank you for all the great info.

Hey their mike how long exactly do you leave them in the rearing jar??
@chrispyle15818 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike, so i got everything you mentioned in the video except the tubing and sponge, my jars are exactly like yours but I'm wondering where you got the sponges and tube that go down the center for the fry rearing jar?
@MikesFishRoom18 жыл бұрын
Sweet man! I had the same issue. Check out angelsplus.com . They are the only company I know of that sells them. You can get everything as a kit or individually. The lift tube can be made using 1/2 pvc pipe.

+Mike's Fish Room Thats awesome bro I agree with you Texas is a nice big comfortable state to be raised in I think. I really enjoy your vids, I myself do breeding too on bn plecos, german blue rams in my 50 gallon heavily planted high tech tank. I use to breed livebearers(platies,mollies) but that was too easy lol. I give you respect for breeding angels, they seem more difficult but with your videos I am learning.
@MikesFishRoom18 жыл бұрын
+Albert Flores sweet! I got a couple of my first BN plecos about 6 months ago. The breeder I bought them said they are the calico variety. Seems that I have 1 of each sex. The males bristles are getting big finally! Honestly man, I liked breeding Angels because of how easy it is to get them to spawn. I have been trying to breed large koi for a couple of years an it takes a ton of work! My hatch rate with Angels sucked at 1st until i started pulling the slate from the parents. Then it became very easy. It's also very cool if you get good parents. They put them in their mouths, spit them out and teach them how to swim. Very cool to watch.

+Mike's Fish Room thats cool, I didnt know that about angelfish. keep up the hard work, I subscribed to you a few months ago. I will continue looking forward to new videos

Nice videos but each is too short. Do you really need to do 100% water change everyday in day 1, day 2 and day 3?

I should have invested in a rearing jar. I used the marina breeder boxes and just did wc's on the tank. Nice video and ninja turtles pants! #roadto1k
@MikesFishRoom18 жыл бұрын
Lol Thanks. Ya I hatched using the marina box at first. It was in my room and is too loud for me but it did work. When I started using the rearing jar my hatch rates wants through the roof!
@302exotics68 жыл бұрын
I might pick one up. I'm getting back into breeding this summer so I'll prob need one.
@MikesFishRoom18 жыл бұрын
+302Exotics I sure does make it easier! I'm glad I made the switch. If you can get your own pickle jar(1g) you can get the sponges from Angels plus and use a pvc pipe for the lift tube. Save ya a couple of bucks!
@302exotics68 жыл бұрын
Okay thanks! Im going to make the switch from clay pots to slate for my breeding surface. Or I'll remove the clay pot and hope they lay on the pvc.
@MikesFishRoom18 жыл бұрын
+302Exotics the clay pots would still work. You would just need to tie a string or something to it to lower it into the jar but I don't blame you. The slates are easier to handle.

Just found about your channel and I love your videos. I have one question about Angles, are platinums slow growers? Because I bought some angels maybe 5 or 6 months ago and all of them have grown accept for the platinums, they were all the same size.
@MikesFishRoom18 жыл бұрын
Hey Richard! Thanks for stopping by! You know, I have 3 Philippine blue platinum show vails and they are the slowest growing out of all my angels. I wouldn't rule out a primary issue tho. How is their appetite?
@kinnikuzero8 жыл бұрын
Mike's Fish Room they are eating very well and i'm feeding hikari flakes and new era and another german brand, aquarium munster, but they never seem to grow. They aren't veils though, one is a pearl and the other 2 are normal. I have 2 goldheads that i bought soon after the platinums at nearly the same size, now the goldheads doubled in size but the plats didn't grow ate all. sorry for the boring details*__*
@MikesFishRoom18 жыл бұрын
+Richard James Hey details are details. You cant find out whats going on without them .lol I have a gold marbel pearlscale that is 8 months old and i have angels that are 3 months that are bigger. her appetite is garbage tho. I think that some fish have bad genetics. Even a good culler cant always tell a runt. the Philippine blue pats that i have are slower growing than the rest but they are still getting good growth. what are you stocking levels like and what size tank?
@kinnikuzero8 жыл бұрын
+Mike's Fish Room It is a 50 something tank, it isn't heavily stocked. There are 10 angels, 20 something tetra(small), 6 or 7 bottom dwellers, 5 amano shrimps(they are poop machines), and 4 or 5 small rainbows. The tank was running on a canister, but I removed it because the tank had an over head filter adjacent the cover, the pump for that was lost and I found it.

I have used your videos and have successfully got to say 7. I have loads of swimmers. They are all in a nice little cloud shape just above the bottom sponge. My question is, do they all have to be swimming throughout the tank, before I start feeding them? I don't want to feed to soon.

angel fish make great parent's if the babies stay with the parent's, provide a piece of slate leaning against the back of the tank at an angle. provide live plant some wide leaf plants as well as fine leaf plants at the ends with some shorter plants in the center. the tank needs to be large 55 gallon works well. the parents keep the eggs clean before hatching by mouthing off any debris that gets on them they if given the right environment will grow there babies and protect them until they are big enough to be on there own. you will have a higher hatch and survival rate. I know this because i used to raise and breed fish and had friends who did the same. we learned from each other what worked best and angels always did best when the parents raised their own young. please stop treating fish this way taking them from the parent's is no different then if your children were taken from you. live bearers seem to be on their own from birth with parents that do not seem to show much interest, while egg layers tend to there eggs and babies until they are big enough to tend to themselves. they do not eat the babies unless the tank is to small they do not have enough food or to much disturbance. Habitat is key, some will lay eggs on smooth rocks or slate while others like wide leaf plants like sword plants. Try it by putting a breeding pair in a large tank. and watch the parent's show you how it's done. you will have so many babies it will blow your mind :)
