@@johndorian473 that is so stupid.😂 Dogs have evolved to have an easy birth with multiples, who are independend after a few weeks. They also don't live in a society. Take bees or ants, where their whole state is there to care for one mother and her babies. Take most birds, where mother and father care together for the eggs and little ones. Or Pandas, who don't breed at all, of their conditions aren't met. When there is a food shortage and you are hungry, don't complain, just do it like dogs do, hunting your food but without hands....

Yeah, on one hand in my country the governement wants people to work for longer in their life, because apparently pensions are difficult to balance on a nationnal scale, on another hand the same governement doesn't really care to make it easier for people to raise kids (kids who are the future workers who will contribute to pay the pensions of old people through some taxes on their future salaries).

@@bobiboulon Tell me about it. My country (and Julie's, actually - Canada) is desperate to get our population up, but they're struggling to increase the birth rate, so they're increasing immigration. That would be fine *except* that immigrants get here, realize they can't afford to have kids either, and now we have an even larger aging population than we started with. Sidenote: I am currently 7 months pregnant. So I'm set on this decision now lol.

I used to think new mothers had too many perks eg mat. leave. I was resentful picking up the slack. Before I went on maternity leave, my boss said "enjoy your vacation" I laughed at that thinking of all the time off. Fast forward, i haven't slept in 3 months and being at work was a lot easier than taking care of a newborn who only sleeps when he's being fed. I have to schedule in time for bathroom breaks and I'm washing/sterilizing bottles at 2am. 😢

Hear that. And it’s so hard to articulate what you do. Cause so much of it is just tending to this lump that does nothing but eat every 2-3 hours, which can take up to an hour each time, then poops liquid and pees about ten or twelve times a day, and then you have to do tummy time and put them to sleep, give them baths. They always soil their diaper as you’re about to leave the house. Then they’re hungry again. And by the time you get where you’re going you’ve put about two hours of work into getting there and have maybe an hour to enjoy yourself before the baby needs feeding and a change and wants to be held. I love my kids but I’m so glad this little guy I’ve been bouncing to sleep for 30 minutes now is our last

@@literaterose6731 Yes, thats correct I am not from the US I am from Germany. A friend of mine is pregnant at the moment. In Germany there are 14 Weeks maternity leave, 6 weeks before the date of birth and 8 weeks after that. Depending on your job in can be more, for example my friend is a nurse and because thats dangerous for the unborn baby she is not allowed to work. So she is in maternity leave since here third month of pregnancy. But it doesnt stop there. After the baby is born both parents can get "Elternzeit" which is "parental leave". The basic form is 14 Months but you can double it, but then you get less money. Speaking of money, the State got your back and depending on your normal income it covers 100% of your normal salary if you have a low income and 65% of your salary if you have a high income, because everybody should be able to spend time with their kids and see them growing up. In other European Countries its quite similiar and I dont understand why you US folks dont want that? I guess its because your polticians tell you thats communism? But its not, its just social and the right thing to do. Fight for your rights! It was a long journey to that in Europe as well.

The genius of this skit is that Julie has had a child, so she's saved the timeline. So this is more like a cautionary tale. Brilliant!

I lost the ability to support myself the day my first baby was born . I still had a job, but daycare would have taken all that pay plus more. They really should pay women to have children and raise them. Especially single moms. Help after a birth at home. Maybe meals delivered, financial support like free healthcare, transportation Countries with low birth rates have increasing elderly population and are in danger

My whole world shifted with that birth. I was so sleep deprived there was no way I could have even looked for work. That was early 90s and child care for an infant was $800 a week. A WEEK!! I made good money but not that good Plus how can you trust anyone with a helpless infant?
