I once did a 36 mile sponsored walk for charity, when I was much younger and fitter. By the end of it I was Donald Ducked and the legs had gone. They gave me a bath in my local pub and fed me brandy till I was able to walk around. Then I got hammered in the bar. Fun times.

Amazing video, your friendship and banter is so special. Done the walk twice, firstly in a respectable 14 hours and then bust a gut to try and beat 12 hours, missed by 10 mins, never again.

Thanks for the nostalgia trip! I did this in a school party in 1966 age 11. It was red hot as I remember, me and my mate got separated from the others, and we had no water with us. Thank heavens we found a spring up on the moor and drank like camels. The only sustenance was a little twisty pack of nuts. When we dragged ourselves the last never ending stretch to the finish, a schoolteacher (who arrived by car) invited us to dance round the trig point or whatever. Unfortunately at age 11 I hadn`t yet mastered the appropriate response - `f*ck right off!!`

Your comment about walking dark into light reminded me of the walk my wife does (73). The Walk of Hope is for Chris's House (Centre for Help and Response & Intervention Surrounding Suicide) which she does Reiki at as a volunteer. It starts in the early hours of the morning and finishes in the daylight. Only 5K, nothing like your epic journeys. Keep up the videos as they will be an inspiration for others. More power to your legs.

Well done lads!I did it earlier this year, I had wet feet from the start due to misleading weather forecast and wrong footwear, the last 3rd was challenging with it being like a desert of heather with few landmarks. Clocked 41 1/2 miles on strava, could have been the extra mile from getting lost in marshes 😂

Herculean effort gents! well done!! A few years back my noggin was in a bit of a mess so i started getting into counting my steps to try and improve my health. Got myself a Fitbit and then with no training whatsoever i did the 100,000 steps in a day challenge along the Delamere way. That was just over 47miles and took me 18 hours. It wouldn't have had the ascents that you two had but it was absolutely brutal... So was the 5am alarm clock for work the next day!!! So i literally feel your pain!! Top notch as always matie!!! Top notch.

Well done to you both. Its a fine walk, did it twice, once when i was 11 ish the other when i was 13, over forty years ago now. Wanting to do it again this year but as a double crossing, should be fun, as you say hallucinations happen when you so tired think you have dragons coming from the heather lol. Love the banter you two have, can make all the difference between a pleasant crossing or not so pleasant. i will be doing the crossings on my own so is a total mind over matter. Love your vids and only just realised that i wasn't subbed..........sorry Looked on the web for the camp site in Osmotherly, wow thats changed, it was pretty much just a field with a couple showers on when i was there.
