If you veneer just one side of a board it will almost certainly bow. You need to do the rear too as a stabiliser, not in oak but something cheaper.

An old carpenters trick so you don't have to grind off screws that are too long, is :- buy the right length screws in the first place. 👀

I'm not sure what you got planned for the roof. But if you're sticking anything to it, it's a good idea to go with high temp contact adhesive. The roof in particular will be exposed to a lot of heat in summer, and standard adhesive often fails. Keep up the good work!

Carpeting in an empty van was even a ball ache , so fair play for your patience 👏👏👏 I found once the glue was on the carpet, a straight blade or a hooked blade was crap at cutting it , I ended using a variety of scissors 😢

Cracking vids on the van build bud but think you should of Trim-Fix and not that no nonsense stuff for the carpet glue. It's cold and heat proof ;)

Build looks fantastic! Very professional. Having spent a few years living on a sailboat, I’d suggest you round off all those hard corners on things like the tabletop and countertop. In a small space like that, your hips, knees and nuts WILL find those corners with great regularity. Have fun out there!

Clever how the tripod system has that knob attached so it latches behind the antler handle. It's nice crafting things when you've got wood.

Haha, can't beat the long stand!! When I was just out of my time we had an apprentice bricky who was sent to get some 'Dicktonite' to clean up some mortar splashes some facework - when he asked how much to get we told him to 'ask for everything they can give you'

Awesome job so far. One of my friends did a VW. van conversion and she went cross country with it, her dog and a guitar. She ended up putting over 5,000 miles on it. (8046.72 kilometers) round trip. You and Fern are in for such adventures.

Looking really good. Just a pointer from my own experince you might need trim the carpet back 5mm from the end of the metal work under the rubber seals as it might wick water.

Just an idea, cut out your logo in ply and stick to roof and carpet over or do on the side panel. I have done this on a VW camper.

How about carpeting the roof, then cut some long strips of plywood and screwing them to the cross struts, leaving a 10mm gap between strips, you could then if you wished put 2 strips of LEDs between them as extra lighting

I have an idea for your draws from the back door! On the ply panels you could get someone do some engraving with a hot iron (burn) to create a your logo or do a landscape 👍

No worries boy, just thought doing it this way would make them self supporting without legs. ie, less vulnerable to marauding labradors. I have one and have experienced the havoc wreaked by an over exuberant tail !

Can anyone get me some sawdust for the sander please as im running low! Whilst your at it the compressors nearly out of air so if you can run round with an empty box half open and capture some that should help the job along greatly! Just be careful not to let any escape as you close the lid else you'll have to do it again!

No Nonsense adhesive is no good for campervan material lining. You need TrimFix adhesive which can handle temps upto 120 degrees. In a hot summer in the U.K. which is rare or travelling abroad, your material will fall off like damp wallpaper on a wall. I'm doing a Ford Transit custom at the moment.
